healthy stoner snacks

Post by ozric »

i'm all for organic biological soil grown snacks.
like dried figs, dried apricots, dates, raisins and a variety of nuts.
ofcourse chocolate is sweet too, but honey might be even sweeter.

did I forget any obvious alternatives?

I always carry fresh fruit (bananas apples or clementines) and some nuts. I also like to buy some aged cheeses, cube them up and carry them in a ziplock. (No need to refrigerate aged hard cheese for a day, will even last a few days, it will smell rancid if it's gone off.)

Not exactly healthy, but if I'm staying in an apartment I make peanut butter cookies for my husband- 1c peanut butter, 1 c brown sugar, and 1 egg. (Mix alltogether, roll into golf balls, roll in more sugar, onto a cookie sheet, smash them a little flat with a fork. Bake at 325f, 163 C for 10-11 minutes. Let cool.

I like to carry hummus and carrot sticks and celery sticks. (If you are a grain-eating person, you can eat crackers or pita with that too.) Chunks of toasted coconut.

I also will buy yogurt and eat it within a few hours. I especially like greek yogurt with fresh fruit.

There is a great bio shop just towards downtown from Mellow Yellow. Nice selection of organic whole foods and snacks there.
Because life is too short to smoke bad bud.

Various trail mixes... one can use their imagination with the ingredients.
If one has access to a food dehydrator, anything is possible.
Maybe not totally on the healthy side - apple wedges with peanut butter. Also good with PB is celery and carrot sticks.
Something for the water drinking crowd, well everybody really, is adding some flavor to drinking (bottled) water. Imagination...
Happy trails..

Thanks for the replies.
Oops I forgot to mention hemp seeds, I'm eating them raw now and they taste great.
But some say do not take them if you're empty headed, whatever that means.
