My general rule for finding a decent Chinese (or other ethnic) restaurant. This only works in areas with a decent sized population of the specific ethnic group.

Walk down Zeedijk and check the menus. When you see things that you fancy, take a look inside. If you see a good number of Chinese people, you can eat there. If it's packed with Chinese people, it's probably worth a wait for a table.

If you are fond of chinese food then there is another restaurant in Amsterdam where you can have chinese food which is very good in taste and also reasonable in price. The New King Chinese Restaurant is the best restaurant in the Amsterdam. You will get all chinese food items here. Local residents as well as tourists visits in this restaurant. The location is also in the center of the city so don't have to find any other restaurant.
