Excellent article, the Prison Industrial Complex is one reason I'm quite happy in dear Auld Scotia, the economics of prison privatisation creates a profit maximisation imperative, thus leads to demands for growth, either through savings (cheap inhumane jails), or market 'capture' growth, ie. more prisoners, for which the War On Some Drugs is essential. Shocking immorality, and these mendacious ideas are gaining traction in the UK, sadly.
