My 420 trip

Gonna try and just talk about coffeeshops and weed here and try to spare you details of what i ate and what i did with my time over there... may be a boring read but its a true summary of my weeds over there and my thoughts on certain coffeeshops..

My trip was from the 18-21st, was my fourth or fifth time to amsterdam and i thoroughly enjoyed it
I always knew it was going to be hard to just vape in the Dam and it was (even with my portable arizer solo on me and volcanos and verdampers in quite a few shops)

Our first stop when arriving in the Dam this time was Utopia as we wanted to try the ROOR vape.. My friend has 0.5g honey haze and i went for the Utopias secret.. Both were nice.. I don't know if this shop is under different hands since i last went but it has improved no end and i will definitely be back.. I wanted to use the ROOR vape for longer but we moved on to Anyday coffeeshop..

I had never been to Anyday before but me and my friend really really enjoyed this place, really nice patient staff who i got on well with. In all honesty i can't wait to get back to this place. The fact it has a good amount of Verdampers for use really suited me as I only vape and didn't really want to be smoking it whilst over there. I didn't get time for a second visit back, which is a shame because they deserve the custom, but the next time I'm in the Dam it will be my first stop and a definite true hang out of mine. We went for the sharkzilla which was really nice and my friend got half a gram of the reserva x and the rootang valley .. all 3 were truly wonderful and i can't wait to get back there to try more of the menu!

We ate in a few different places but i particularly enjoyed the steakhouse in between voyagers coffee shop and centraal station, good food in there and sorted me right out lunch wise for that day!

I was pleased with my weed purchases this time round as everything i bought seemed to be flushed really well and generally not rushed to market. We sampled the purple strawberry bliss and El cid kush in voyagers which were both nice weeds for the price but i was slightly underwhelmed with voyagers in general after hearing such rave reviews, although a clean volcano bag set up would have most probably have near enough changed my mind entirely about the place.

As a buy and fly when your in the centre I'd say feels good is definitely worth a visit, never much on the menu but good 0.5g deals that are cheap and normally good smokes. I've never had a bad bud come from there yet, although the menu is normally haze dominant which can be dull. I went for the Nitro haze which was nice but very similar to other haze's they had on offer, at first i thought he had sold me amnesia and given it a funny name but to be fair it was some sort of fruity haze cross in the end and not your average amnesia.

I found myself at the Bluebird at one point during my trip. It wasn't my first time there and i enjoyed it very much last time i was there(mainly due to the volcanos). This time was good too but I found the bud tender slightly rude. I asked her which was flushed well and what was in form and she took it as an insult to her menu and told me how the bluebird do things properly and everything is nice. I can see why she took it that way but i only asked as the last weed i got from the bluebird (chiesel) was horrifically flushed and didn't vape well at all.. After a little chat about the weeds on the menu and her being generally rude, she showed me the kandy kush, i smelled it and said out loud that it was 'different' (I said this as it didn't smell like your average kush) she replied with a derogatory comment about how it would be different otherwise they wouldn't of called it kandy kush and how she was sorry but she gets a lot of idiot customers... Long story short, enjoyed my vape session, enjoyed the vape, didn't enjoy being talked to nastily by mrs.superior the bud dealer.. will be back but mainly for the volcanos (even though the kandy kush did turn out to be one of the better buds of the trip.)

I think the Bluebird was the only bad experience with a bud tender i had. If there were any others i just walked out before buying anything, I never used to do that but have learned through my other trips that there's plenty of places to go in the Dam.. if you don't like how your being treated then leave. There was a couple of coffeeshops i expected more from, one i had been to before, it was called flower power.. On my last visit i had some lovely stuff there but this time was a buy and fly and although the bud was cheap, for me the quality just wasn't there. The same could be said about coffeeshop Biba, although this trip was my first visit to BIBA.. In flower power i had a gram of amnesia and blue cheese and in BIBA i had a gram of their widow.. All 3 of these weeds were reasonably priced but lacked the quality and love that some grows get / have.

Paradox is another place that for me I will definitely be back at. In fact similar to Anyday i wish i spent more time there. The bud tender was a lovely bloke and very friendly. I went for the outdoor haze which was 1.2g for 10euro.. I vaped some of it in their volcano and loved it.. As i say will definitely be back to spend more time in this place!

Last time i went to homegrown fantasy i wasn't particularly impressed, however they appear to have gotten their act together for 420.. I ended up having 0.5g of Durban poision (questionable whether it was grown outdoor as was immaculate, looked like a CFL grow to me but either way lovely stuff and wasn't complaining). I also had half a gram of the shiva which is what the bud dealer recommended as indoor, it was nice but by no means exceptional, still nonetheless a nice strain. My friend had a gram of the Nimbin which looked more like outdoor and again was very very nice... top marks for homegrown fantasy at the moment lol

Coffeeshop BEN is one place that does my nut.. Good people, good staff, when they have weed on the menu its normally reasonably good and always very clean but they never have much on the menu and it doesn't have a vape which annoys me. Either way still a nice place and i always find myself back there. I tried the strawberry sour diesel and i wasn't particularly impressed, nice and clean which is very important to me but it had been cut early and the strength in flavor and potency was just not there.
None the less I'll be back as i do like the vibe and the people there.

I always take a trip to Grey Area and have never been disappointed weed wise. However this time i was, strain wise they are amazing (copped some headband and some exodus cheese, my friend got the haywain snow) both were good examples of the strain flavor you would expect when trying one of these but again the potency just was not there, had obviously been chopped early and unfortunately that made them much less enjoyable then they should have been. I think its the first time I've had anything from G.A that wasn't up to scratch (although at least they were clean and well flushed which is far more important to me then potency).. the hawain snow was the same as the cheese and headband, clean well flushed but not as strong as it should be both flavour wise and strength.

We had a trip to Barneys (harlem) for the hell of it on the last day and it was similar to the bluebird. Enjoyed the volcanos, enjoyed the weed, enjoyed the people but did not enjoy how rude the staff can be.. the weed was ridiculously expensive too and they don't do half grams which is a bit of a joke in my opinion (even if all the weed is immaculate)... Either way me and my mate went for the tangerine dream and it was a nice strain i hadn't tried before, not worthy of being a cannabis cup winner in my opinion but there u are!

My final place before i went home, which i really thoroughly enjoyed was Best friends 2, real friendly dude in there with good vibes and I didn't know they had a volcano till i went in (was so pleased to see one sitting there).. We stayed here ages he was a nice patient guy which is what i want when im in the coffeeshops.. sometimes its not about having the best weed but having the best atmosphere and although this guys weeds weren't amazing, the vibe was great and that suits me down to the ground... I went for 2g of PDPP outdoor for 10euro which was definitely outdoor weed this time as it looked and smelled like outdoor weed unlike the durban poision from homegrown fantasy which looked too immaculate to be outdoor... My friend had a gram of the orange bud which was clean, well flushed, not the strongest but probably the best orange bud i've had in the Dam in all my time there, which is saying something..

In summary i had a great time, got some great weeds and can't wait to go back... My new favourite coffeeshops where i want to spend more time are Anyday, Paradox and Best friends. All 3 of them were top marks for me and i can't wait to get back in those 3 and the other ones above I've said good things about. I didn't make as many coffeeshops as i have done in my past trips but the quality of weed was far superior this trip and my experiences with bad coffeeshops were much fewer and further between. There are a couple of coffeeshops i didn't make that i wanted to go to, some of which i have been too before, but i can't think of the names off the top of my head, may be back in this thread to name them when i can!

If any of you read this and feel there's a good coffeeshop with vapes that i've missed or didn't go to then give me a shout and tell me as I'm all for finding new spots. Especially if they allow you to operate the cano rather then keeping it behind the counter as that bugs me!

and for what its worth i still smoked more then i wanted too and didn't vape as much as i'd like, the solo done a decent job but i was still rolling joints... all i need is a volcano in the apartment when i go and my life will be complete!

No worries guys - Have taken information from this site a lot in the past so its nice to give something back, pleased you enjoyed and will do the same when i go again.. may also come and drop a few names of places i've been to on previous trips and liked when i get the chance

@cattales1960 - i didn't get a chance too meet them unfortunately.. I'm yet to meet any of them but i wanna make sure i show my face next time I'm in town.
