Netherlands judge backs cafe cannabis ban

This looks like my trip to Amsterdam this July may be the end of my love affair with the city. Do not get me wrong; it is a beautiful and vibrant city but there are many beautiful places in the world I haven't been and Amsterdam has lost its liberal charm. Economic suicide- the wisdom of the conservative mindset. I'm so beyond tired of the ridiculously hypocritical, double standards of demonising Marijuana. Should be legal; no loopholes, no lenience- just legal. Keep dreaming I guess.

Not over till the fat lady sings is what I say, the battle isn't over yet by a long way...

Dutch cannabis cafe owners fight changes

Mr Josemans says his cafe, along with many others, is planning to boycott the new law - a move that will force the government to challenge them in court.

Hate to even say it but you are just "wishin in one hand and crapping in the other", see which one fills up first, it's over!
Plan your farewell trips

BTW thats a BS article for example this totally BS quote from it "In October strong cannabis was reclassified as a hard drug, amid concerns about its potentially psychotic effects.

The move forced cannabis coffee shops to remove the more popular, stronger varieties from their shelves."

This is total BS, all the coffeshops I went into had the high THC varities and the high THC hash....

What I want to know is the last time this was being discussed there was mention that people with Belgian and German resident cards would still be allowed in Maastrict.
Is this still or was it ever true and would that change under the new law?

Kind of defeats the law but hey I got a Belgian card so I don't mind.

I think my trip last December might have been my last. It would be a great shame if that was the case, but the writing has been on the wall for a very long time.

I truly don't want to replace my favorite European destination, but this gives me very little choice.
Can't post when I'm high, can't post when I'm not. This happens when I do.

You know how the travel advisories on Amsterdam have always said just to walk away from street dealers? I guess the wietpass will be the way for tourists to connect with them. When the scrupulous dealers run out of their varieties of clean, quality marijuana & hash, they will most certainly offer your some nice, unadulterated cocaine, heroin or other goodies from reputable sources. There is no way that this could cause any sorts of problems, right?

Well, I may see you all there also, sorting a few things out, but hopefully in the next month or two I'm on my way to see if I can make a go of it and live in Amsterdam
