Amsterdam strain selection!?

Post by benstraat »

Hi.

In August, it will be my 14th trip to Amsterdam.

I don't know about yourselves, but I would find it hard to 1) remember, and 2) pick my ultimate Amsterdam strain.

Although I would like to be able to narrow it down, and just buy that one strain everytime I am there, because I know I get on with it.

Everytime I go, I get greedy and buy allsorts of weed from allsorts of places. Over the years I have bought from Hunters, Grey Area, Green House Centrum and Barneys mostly.

This trip I am going to definitely try Voyagers.

What one strain would you pick above others if you had to as your ultimate favourite and why?

And also, I am trying to find Dr.Grinspoon, Purple Strawberry Bliss, and Silver Bubble so if anyone has any up to date information that would be great.

Mine just depends on what mood I'm in a the time, what looks good and what the recommendations are. Check out the travelogues section - that's basically exactly what you're looking for :)

Forget about hunters and greenhouse

Voyagers , PSB and other nice strains
Club Media , champagnehaze and other nice BIOgrown strains . Giant list of indicas, hash, and few VERY nice hazes
Dampkring , Greencrack which is cheap and good. They carry lots of strains other shops dont
Siberie , Fantasia and L.Acon and Lavender .Very nice weeds at the 9-12 euro range , lots of diffrent flavors
Utopia , Bubba Kush , Honey haze and other nice strains grown to perfection
Relax and take notes , as I take tokes of the marihuana smoke

Thankyou.

I have done Hunters and Greenhouse to death, so they are off my list. The reason being they are so close and handy to my hotel. Just out of curiosity why don't you rate them?
I find them a tad commerical myself.

I am definitely going to Voyagers, and potentially Utopia.

They seem to have so many strains on the menu that they don't concentrate on perfecting one strain.

I'm definitely going to try the PSB from Voyagers if they've got it, and the Super Wild Lemon, and anything else you reccomend?

What's the PSB like?

PSB tasted really nice , sweet purplish taste idk how to explain.
Just sniff it , it tasted the same as it smells.

SWLH aint that good IMO. i'd rather take their OG .

The OG is a hybrid isn't it?

I usually just go for the hazes.

I'll 100 % be going to the Grey Area aswell.

The OG is indica dominant , but the fuely flavor is very nice.

ooooohhh so you want sativas huh !? Then i'll advice you these

Club Media ; Champagne haze . AWESOMME . Thai haze really oldschool sativa flavor
Utopia ; Honey haze , kushberry not sativa but VERYY nice flavor and effect , Citronella !!!!!!!!
Dampkring ; Greencrack , Amnesia skunk if its still there , AMG13
Grey ; Greyhaze really cheap and nice , 100% sativa ( is dr grinspoon) , La Women
MellowYellow ; S5 haze , or silverhaze, whatever you like to call it
La tertulia : Sour Diesel , Citrol

To be honest.
The last couple of times I've been, I've looked for Sativas.

The reason being in Liverpool, where I live. Cheese became so popular, strong and readyily available, I smoked it nearly every night for 18 months, and I got sick of the indica knock out feeling it gave me.
But I haven't tried many other indicas because it put me off.

So maybe a hybrid would be Ok?

1g PSB - Voyagers
1g PSG - Voyagers

1g Honey Haze - Utopia

Your choice of course but it is 10 minutes max by tram...you'll be missing out on a great shop.

I know I know.
It's just, unlike you Lamont, I am not going solo, so don't have the freedom to completely dominate the days plans.

I tend to stick to shops with walking distance.

Grey Area, Voyagers, Utopia, and potentially 420 are on my list.

Is 420 good for bud?
I read your brilliant report, it's just I'm insure, the coffeeshops off the Damrak put me off, they seem horrible, and I haven't heard it mentioned a lot.

There is not a lot of point asking for strain recommendations in May if your trip's not until August.
Strains change daily/weekly, what's there or good today, might not be there in August, or might not be anywhere near as good in August.
I suggest asking again a week or so before you leave.
