BAZZARR

Post by hestia »

Has anyone been here ? I was turned on to this place by the lady budtender at the kazu and also by some students .
Yogi, Islandgirl, Phillie rich and myself went there one eveing during the 420 cup time.....and it was great !! Beautifull tiles on the walls...very arabian nights like.
The food was a real treat too.Yogi had a srimp kabob that overflowed his plate along with a lightly saffroned rice mounded underneith .
IG had the chicken kabob , also with rice that looked super.
Now PR and I thought we'de be a little bit different and I for one am glad that we did. We both ordered the daily special...WOW. It started with soup there were two kinds of soup to choose from lentil and red pepper cream soup .PH got the lentil and I got the red pepper.....they were wonderfull. Big assed bowls ,moor than enough to share with everyone, along with the soup there was also a basket of warn fresh bread (not sure what type tho...) Now for our main course we both got the same thing Meatballs in a nice gravy served in a covered bowl with some more of the lovley rice and a salad on the side as well. Now you would think this would be enough.....but no we still had dessert and turkish coffee to enjoy. Well to tell you the truth I don't know what it was......But it was a total trip . there was peices of REAL turkish delight and candyed fruits and such on a plate with some sort of spun sugery stuff that looked just like old insulation layed over the top in a tangle .it looked scary...but after working up our nerve.... we tryed it and OMG It was to cry for! it went along perfectly with the small cups of strong frangent coffee .So if you get a chance go here .O and by the way . My dinner cost less than 15 euros ...with tip.

I should have went in with you guys and gals...that red pepper soup sounded good.

The restaurant is on the south side of Albert Cuypstraat, market end of the street. I believe it has a large sign that is hard to miss. Looked kind of spacious inside.

Good to know. I like the Pijp because I haven't totally explored it yet. Thanks Nimrod!

I am yet to have breakfast, but have become culinarily aroused by Hester's review  Yet another reason I miss me some A'dam!
