Good Advice.

you will need to book early, but the Old Nickel http://www.oldquarter.com/oldnickel/ is cheap, can accommadate 8-9 peeps (as long as some don't mind sharing) and is a stones throw from centraal station.

Damn matty I'm jealous. Wonderful Hotel. By far the best I've stayed in Amsterdam. The building itself is a treasure. Very interesting. Both inside and out. The deep bathtubs in the spacious bathroom are the ultimate chill out zone after a long day/night in the dam.

Did you get lucky on a Priceline/Hotwire bid or book normally?
How much did you produce?

If there are 8-9 of you guys and you're all young(ish) and brave, it might be worth your while staying in a hostel! You can stay at the flying pig for cheap, and probably get your own room too, (4 bunk beds, not bad at all though) the Uptown one is right next to the Vondelpark and has its own smoking lounge! Depends what you're into I guess!
Smoking weed doesn't make you cool... It makes you stoned!
