It's been a busy life lately, far to much like hard work for Fat Freddie so a chance to chill in Amsterdam was too good to resist.
Like I need any excuse
Will be visiting the usual favourites coffeeshop wise ( is it true HGF has no cheese? ) and am up for a T&T if anyone is about.
I am hoping to add to and bring to a state of completeness and coherence a photo documentary of the Amsterdam Graffiti I've been taking over the last 5yrs or so.
The way Graffiti is part of the landscape and contributed to by such a wide variety of artists ( Yes I do think it is an art form albeit a temporary one ) and the different attitude to it ( here it is often removed or painted over unless it is a banksey and the artists prosecuted if caught ) allows it to bring character and colour to an urban landscape.
The fact that a lot of graffiti appears to be tolerated in Amsterdam means that the graffiti is not just hastily sprayed TAGS but often complex well crafted images.
Some I think have been there for many years and make me smile when I see them
