Ajax vs Celtic - 21st July 19:00 KO

Post by Popeye »

Just a little warning that the Dam wil be overrun with green & white the weekend beginning the 20th July.

We're a noisy bunch, but there's very rarely any trouble out of us. Get on well with Ajax as well, historically, so there's no reason for their boys to start any nonsense either. Should be a cracking weekend.

I'll be there from the Wednesday until Monday - if anyone fancies tagging along, if just for the sake of doing something different (or even any ex-Rangers fans looking for a new team to support  ) then let me know - I'll post ticket details when they're available.

ajax's ground is brilliant, the only ground where they have actually got the onsite facilities right. as im sure your aware any new out of town stadium usually is a souless dome, with over priced beer and the focus heavily on families having dinner. grounds like bolton and reading and stoke are just shite to travel to, so you have hang back in town to find a pub, and then make the mad dash to the ground to actually make it for kick off.

the biljimijmijmer arena is quite a journey out from centrall station, so misstiming the train ride down is quite easy, but ajax provide a bunch of bars around the ground which are actually worth drinking at beofre hand. so dont hold back in town too long. also... whilst obvioulsy not allowed, when we had our friendly there, some lads were smoking spliffs openly in the away end happily with no hassle from the stewards, and i smoked happily walking around the ground without an eyebrow raised.

enjoy, and try to keep the glorifying of murdering scum to a mimimum.

Yet grounds all around the country have servicemen in each year for this and that. All murderers at the end of the day. Just 'cos it's your army doesn't make them any less so.

Anyway, having a few dodgy songs is all that fingers can be pointed at us for, so I'm chuffed enough with that, and to be pontificated at by a Chelsea fan & a Hearts (?) fan is a bit rich tbh. Just you pair worry about yer own supports. :)
