Weed Pass
Weed Pass
I am just back from The Dam and after speaking to many coffeeshop people, I feel confident enough to say that this weed pass thing WILL NOT HAPPEN in Amsterdam. There is elections in September and everyone I spoke to reckons that the current Govt. will be voted out. The only slight doubt I have is that none of the stoners go out and vote ( but I am sure they will make the effort to ensure nothing changes in The Dam ). If the worst does happen, we will be allowed in the shops and we will get it under the counter.

My thoughts exactly. When you see how easily coffeeshops have skirted/ignored the tobacco ban (and how quite a few also skirted the alcohol ban) I have confidence our Dutch friends will find a way around the weed pass too.Wazzy wrote:If the worst does happen, we will be allowed in the shops and we will get it under the counter.
It's so easy to laugh, it's so easy to hate - it takes guts to be gentle and kind...

That would be a truly acceptable position - keeping Amsterdam as it is would be an overall beneficial to the tourist and visitor attraction to the city , otherwise the knock on loss of jobs in CS alone would be around 1000 or so , not counting the other multipliers on all other economic factors. (the loss of Groningen / Vlissingen - both places I have smoked in - is irrelavant compared to the Dam)
If it does come in , no chance of going there again for this reason - 3 trips in the last 2 years and there were more planned as work and family pressures ease. !
