Netflix has partnered with Sony Pictures for the exclusive streaming rights to Breaking Bad spinoff series Better Call Saul.

US and Canadian streaming members will be able to watch the complete first season of Better Call Saul on Netflix, immediately after its broadcast finale on AMC. Europe and Latin America will be able to check out new episodes shortly after they've aired. The deal makes Netflix the exclusive subscription television service in all territories for the spinoff.

Better Call Saul, co-created and executive produced by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, will bring Bob Odenkirk back to our screens as everyone's favourite crooked lawyer.

"This spin-off promises to continue its tradition of powerful storytelling," said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a statement. "We are proud to be in business with Sony Pictures Television to bring Saul Goodman to our subscribers around the world.”

“Bryan [Cranston] called me up last year and said he had this incredibly lucid dream in which Walt wakes up in a hospital bed surrounded by the DEA, ends up breaking out of prison and finds out he’s got fans,” Gilligan said. “This isn’t a redemption story, it’s got a bleak, dark premise. I can’t give away any more of the details, but let’s just say Walt has quite a bit of unfinished business to attend to, and it sure as hell has nothing to do with teaching high school science.”
