You can ask at the Taxi rank "how much will i be to ..............."

Out of Centraal, turn right and head towards the multi storey bike park, then ask one of the stewards at the rank.

Taxis are generally fine although they may not be able to drop you right outside the hotel due to stopping restrictions

taxis are a rip off, do not go with any cabbie not in a car... there are scoopers that will walk right up to you and ask if you need a cab... avoid them obv

If you are flying into Schiphol, take the 197 bus to the Leidseplein and walk. You can pay the bus driver directly fare is €4.

Though they could take Public for about 4euro each, they could just as easily take a taxi.

I really like the way a taxi shows you the city in some ways. And it's only about 10 euro more.. (4eu x 4 pax =16eu) where a taxi is only 25....

Personally, I'd go for the taxi with that many folks.

Looks like i was robbed, the only time i used a taxi was end of last year from Centraal to Stadhousekade near the Pancake Caroussel. 20E stuck in my head for some reason but that was probably what i had on me

I have never had a problem with TCA cabs. 020 777 7777.

If you're coming from the airport why pay for a train and then a taxi? Wouldn't it be cheaper and make more sense to take the bus directly to the Leidseplein?

We took a cab when the Mrs tweaked her ankle getting off train at Central. Went from station to Greenhouse Namaste (not far from Rembrandtplein) and it was 15e including a 2e tip. Dean Chronson and I took a cab from Schipol to an apartment across the street from Basjoe and it was 50e with a 5e tip.

we have a taxi booked from the airport to our apartment just up from HSB@market , E40

Yea i asked how much to schiphol & the taxi driver was like aahhhhh (trying to think) & then said a half hearted 50 euros!! i told him no ta & got the train lol,, Heavy bags or not.

That address is very close indeed to either Prinsengracht or Leidseplein stops on the 1,2 or 5 trams which all run from Centraal Stn. Cheap and a nice way to get into the Dam vibe?

Somebody will read it though,just look at the views it gets,re a taxi always arrange the price before getting into it,applies to most places in the world.
