First time in Amsterdam alone
First time in Amsterdam alone
Hey my name is Rick im a 26 year old male from the US. Im going to the cannabis cup from Nov. 19 - Nov. 25th 2012. How hard is to meet people out there? I consider myself a likeable person and I make friends pretty easy. I have just never gone to another country alone. Lol that and I think I over analyze things to much when im high also what are some good coffee shops in Amsterdam centre . Is this time frame enough to see the good museums and enjoy the cup? Thanks again!!!

You have been posted on the November Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.
There are T&T's planned for every day of your visit.
By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.
How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.
You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.

Hi Rick,
It is hard not to meet people in the dam IMO. Toke and Talks are perfect for that.
Museums, I guess that depends on how involved you are with the Cup. 5pm is a common closing time for museums. As long as you don't sleep in late, you sholud have time. Once the Cup is over you should have lots of time.

Five of my six trips have been solo, it's great and you'll have no trouble meeting people in coffeeshops if you so desire.
Re: First time in Amsterdam alone
Thanks again for all the advice!!! Also is the Isolator worth it??? Seems expensive...also thats my other thing are all the high priced items on menus always the best? Im staying right across from the Betty Boop Coffee Shop iv read reviews sounds really hit or miss what are the best coffee shops near that one? Iv heard 420 cafe is good to any recommendations off the menu? Also all I see online is BARNEYS BARNEYS BARNEYS!! iv heard mixed reviews about them as well are they as good as everyone says they are? Also if i dont buy a Canibus Cup pass online where do you find them in Amsterdam?

Hello Rick! I am pretty sure you gonna be alright. It's going to be a lot of people in there, during the Cup, from this forum and i think you will have a good chance to meet people from all other the world. Amsterdam is a nice place to be while stoned )) 420cafe is a good cs,in my opinion,i like it ))

Re: First time in Amsterdam alone
Ive been by myself twice now, just for a couple of days.
Everytime ive been in a coffeeshop someone has just sat down next to me and just started conversation. Usually starts with what we are both smoking then goes from there.
First time i was abit apprehensive as ive been the person to start conversation with random people, but i guess when you are mellow and in a nice atmosphere those barriers come down.
