First time in Amsterdam alone

Post by RickW3486 »

Hey my name is Rick im a 26 year old male from the US. Im going to the cannabis cup from Nov. 19 - Nov. 25th 2012. How hard is to meet people out there? I consider myself a likeable person and I make friends pretty easy. I have just never gone to another country alone. Lol that and I think I over analyze things to much when im high also what are some good coffee shops in Amsterdam centre . Is this time frame enough to see the good museums and enjoy the cup? Thanks again!!!

Welcome to the forum.

You have been posted on the November Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.
There are T&T's planned for every day of your visit.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/membe ... le&u=81714

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

First timers get my S G Collins recommendation
I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.

Welcome, and have a great trip. Check out the CC thread at top of this forum, you'll see plenty of ACDers in town.

Drop by Voyagers and you are bound to see a few.

Maybe we will share a peace pipe, cheers

Hi Rick,
It is hard not to meet people in the dam IMO. Toke and Talks are perfect for that.

Museums, I guess that depends on how involved you are with the Cup. 5pm is a common closing time for museums. As long as you don't sleep in late, you sholud have time. Once the Cup is over you should have lots of time.

Five of my six trips have been solo, it's great and you'll have no trouble meeting people in coffeeshops if you so desire.

Hello Rick! I am pretty sure you gonna be alright. It's going to be a lot of people in there, during the Cup, from this forum and i think you will have a good chance to meet people from all other the world. Amsterdam is a nice place to be while stoned )) 420cafe is a good cs,in my opinion,i like it ))

Ive been by myself twice now, just for a couple of days.
Everytime ive been in a coffeeshop someone has just sat down next to me and just started conversation. Usually starts with what we are both smoking then goes from there.
First time i was abit apprehensive as ive been the person to start conversation with random people, but i guess when you are mellow and in a nice atmosphere those barriers come down.
