Post by ThatGuy »

i read somehwere (i hope not here...i did a search and didnt find it) that if you subscribe to High Times that you get like blacklisted by the government or something like that...and i just remeber on the forum people agreeing with this aying that this happens

so i wanna jsut make sure im getting it straight that if you subscribe you go on a blacklist.

even as bassackwards as our govt' is i would highly doubt they actually actively montior the HT subscription list.

BUT....I still insist on NOT subscribing although i purchase every issue as i have for the past ten years (minus those couple years when it went to shit...early '00's i think). If someone IS watching it best not to be on that list......but if they are watching that list i assume they are watching this website as well as some of the others of this nature i frequent.........not in jail yet.

I bet the war on terror takes up most of the US governments watchers' time.

I reckon Pot Heads are pretty low priority now.

"Enforcing marijuana prohibition costs taxpayers between $10 billion and $12 billion annually and has led to the arrests of 18 million Americans," St. Pierre said. "Arresting hundreds of thousands of American who smoke marijuana responsibly needlessly destroys the lives of otherwise law abiding citizens."

so sad... and such a waste of money

Those statistics have to be off, that would imply that 1 in 13 adults has been arrested on a marijuana charge at least once in their life.

1 in 13 is believeable to me. It must include repeat offenders and includes charges that are later dismissed etc.

Someone else I was discussing it with said the same thing, but the article clearly says "18 million Americans". And even if it includes arrest with no convictions, that's still a really high number...

"has led to the arrests of 18 million Americans,"

I read it as total, not per annum.
