Greetings and salutations everyone. I've been kicking around the forums for nearly a decade now but never signed on to this one. I use the CS directory all the time, tho.
I've just moved to Hamburg from the UK and I'm originally from America. Been in this city for a month now and I'm blown away by the laid back vibe and the friendly and helpful natives.
Thanks for having me aboard!

Welcome!
I bloody love Hamburg.. If they had coffeeshops it would be my favourite European city!
Until that point, it will have to be my 2nd favourite European city!

Thanks for the welcome.
Can't say enough good things about this city. I start my language class next month and what little Deutshe I know is pathetic, but I try and no one's taken me to task yet about my lame attempt to communicate. A smile and a positive attitude seem to go a long way here.

Moin moin...
I'm at the opposite end of the country, Stuttgart area.
I too am an expat, former military.
If you ever have the chance, take a (train) ride to the island of Sylt. I lived there for four years, very nice place... beaches...
Don't worry too much about not speaking (perfect) German, all that really matters is you are trying. This attitude goes a LONG WAY in Germany.
Lastly, if you like fish, go to the St. Pauli waterfront on Saturday mornings... fish porn...

Welcome to ACD, watch your hands and don't feed the animals...
