Re: NYC to JFK ?
Last time I did it (at least a couple years ago) you had to take a bus to the sky train. Probably could also take a subway and transfer at the Jamaica station. Maybe someone else has done the route more recently....

Re: NYC to JFK ?
It does NOT.
You have to take the A train to Howard Beach and transfer upstairs, through $5 turnstyles onto the Airport Loop train.
The Loop train is free on the return trip to NY
Hope this helps

Hate to point out the obvious.... The MTA site has a subway map including the Skytrain, LIRR at http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/subwaymap.pdf
You can indeed get the LIRR to Jamaica Center or the subway to Jamaica/Sutphin Ave. (same place but underground)

Re: NYC to JFK ?
Exactly, thank you. LIRR will exact a $ premium vs subway but will be faster and more comfortable.gronin wrote:Hate to point out the obvious.... The MTA site has a subway map including the Skytrain, LIRR at http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/subwaymap.pdf

$45 flat rate for cab or $2.20 on the subway last time I was there. Subway for me but I'm just naturally cheap...

Re: NYC to JFK ?
Flat Fare from John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport:
For trips between (to and from) Manhattan and JFK International Airport, the flat fare is $52.00 plus any tolls using Rate Code 2 on the meter. A NY State Tax Surcharge of $.50 will be added to each trip.
If passengers request multiple stops, the flat rate of $52.00 will be collected at the first stop in either Manhattan or JFK International Airport, and the meter will be activated at Rate Code 1 (standard city rate) for the remainder of the trip. The metered fare should be collected at the last stop, from the last passenger.
All trips between JFK International Airport and New York City destinations other than Manhattan will use that standard metered rate.
*you will pay extra for baggage too
usually ends up at $65.00
