A friend of mine is heading out to Amsterdam for his first trip on friday and he has had problems with his hotel. Any advice on where to send him to find something else, cheap as chips though lol

If worse comes to worse, the VVV, big white building just out front of Centraal Statiom.

Remco is very inexpensive, but it's a 20 minute tram ride from city center. Hotel Washington is another good deal, located near De Pijp. There are cheaper ones if he's willing to stay in a hostel or share a bathroom.

Could do worse than Voyagers Hotel. Easy for Centraal Station and only 50eu a night for a single. Can get Voyagers email off their hotel thread.
