Ok, so the poor can't afford to go to gun ranges or join hunt clubs, big deal. Many will continue doing what they've been doing all along, home made ranges and the like.
In the scenario I presented a few posts ago, I didn't get into the weeds of how these establishments would be operated, but applying a "little bit" of logic would suggest to make participating affordable for everyone. Poor people without a place to fire their guns even though they really can't afford the bullets - done. Next...

If someone doesn't agree, then we don't agree. Since you apparently read some of my posts, one thing that stands out is my use of "to each their own". That's not acting like a kid, in part that's recognizing that we have differences. Lastly, EVERYONE should take it personal when anybody gets shot. What the hell's the matter with YOU? Ok, blame it on someone or something in your past, or culture, or video games, or movies, or music, or whatever, but in the end there's nobody left to blame but oneself - desensitized to a point that when people get shot, the opinion is "so what"?. Shame that you would be the last to know, but that's usually the case with (...............................)!

This is not good, and nothing good will come of it. Imagine being a student in an elementary school with armed guards patrolling the halls, randomly searching you and your book bag, locker, and anything else they want.

In some states hunting is practically a necessity. I used to live in Wisconsin, and anyone who lives there will tell you they have a shit ton of deer. They cause alot of car accidents running across the interstates and highways, sometimes fatal accidents. I can't imagine how many accidents would have been caused through the years if the population had been allowed to multiply without hunting. Also about 12 years ago there was an outbreak of chronic wasting disease among the deer population in Wisconsin and hunters were granted special licenses to kill as many deer as possible. In that case hunting was probably a necessity to stop the spread of the disease.

The NRA proposal is laughable, imo. They suspend their social media for a week, huddle up, and that's all they can respond with...putting loaded weapons even closer to the kids that are supposed to be protected? Bah.

The NRA are wing-nut jobs with their own agenda.


I sponsor getting medieval on their asses, and surround our schools with moats. Besides the obvious security, they work wonders on class-cutting/attendance issues, too. Time to get Groundskeeper Willie an Everglades-style air boat for maintaining the crocodile-filled moat. Gives the 4-H kids something new to do.

this debate can go on for years as it has, but imo i would rather have a weapon then a cop, since most only shoot their weapons once a year to qualify, imo the police in these days and ages need to practice, with there weapon, learn about them, ffs most cant even clean or nmaintain their own weapon,

A slippery slope fallacy perhaps - the next logical step is to demand the exile of American-born citizens for voicing their opposition to guns or anything Blood Red, God White, or Patriot Blue. I would like to sit down with the 31,000+ people who signed the petition. I would start with the 1st Amendment and ask them what it is and what it means. Then I would continue on to the 2nd, and so on. I think many here know where this leads - Jaywalking (a skit on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno).
I love my country and what it (supposedly) stands for, doesn't mean I have to like some or all of the people.

Just a hunch, but those 31,000+ petition signers are likely the exact same people who signed a petition for Texas to secede from the Union.

The 2nd Amendment protects the 1st tho, does it not Ron? I am all for people's freedom of speech (this is how the west burrow church operates....the reason they say the things they do is so people attack them, then simple court defense of freedom of speech, and boom their lawyers make $$$$) but what is this notion of COMING to the US to VOICE against our ways? WTF is that? If you don't like what we got, then don't come? The only hypocrisy i see in that is the unwanted nation building we do...which is done under a total guise, but that is another thread....

In a different thread someone mentioned the obligatory "It's over 200 years old! The constitution has no place in this new 21st century!" ...........following that notion lets just consider all knowledge that was discovered 200+ years ago obsolete so:

Reading, writing, mathematics, physics, art, gravity, cannabis......the list goes on....you see how foolish this notion is.....

I agree with you, in part, I don't like it when someone wants to change our way of life, but this was an opinion. Let me reiterate - an opinion.
Piers Morgan didn't just come here, he's been here for quite some time.
Next, he works for CNN, a commentator and host. I'm not sure how that fits with the 1st Amendment...
As far as I know, it was not/is not his intention to use CNN as a platform to complain about our way of life.
This all started during an interview where he stated his opinion, again - an opinion.

Not another thread, this is what it's all about... we go to other countries and force feed them some warped sense of democracy (I should know, I was a tool that did just that). We can dish it out, we just can't take it when it lands on our shores.
Who would scream the loudest if this were to happen to an American in another country? Yup, Americans but more specifically, the media followed closely by the politicians. They would be screaming foul, that in the good ole' US of A, this would never happen to a foreign correspondent/journalist/talk host/etc.... Wanna bet it already hasn't? Does this warrant deportation? Before anyone answers, take a look at who the US is currently allowing to live within it's borders. Here's a hint - think dictators, generals, etc... of regimes that murdered thousands. As I stated and will now do so again - he gave his opinion. This hypocrisy so bold and brash it amazes me that people aren't blinded by it, or maybe that's the problem, people have - it's called the Sheeple Principle.

This is so much more than just about an online petition. The White House has to respond to any petition presented with at least 25,000 signatures.
This isn't a joke, it's part of our process, it's part of our 1st Amendment Rights - to petition the government.
Although I don't agree with the basis of the petition, I will support their 1st Amendment Right to do so. I will give my life if necessary to protect those rights.
