Re: Your 3 Favourite Coffeeshops *NEW!*
Voyagers and Club Media were pretty easy choices. Had a harder time with the 3rd choice but went for Paradox for the veggie burger, finger hash and amazing knockout edibles. I have slept through an entire 11 hour flight using 2 of these babies.
How much did you produce?

Barneys, voyagers, Betty's in that order, but I've only been to voyagers a couple of times and had nothing but good times, so it may move up to the top spot in the future(after a few more visits)
Always trade fairly!!!

Re: Your 3 Favourite Coffeeshops *NEW!*
Interesting story here - Voyagers running away with it.
Most of the new shops that people asked to have included are not proving very popular.
The clear exception is Utopia.
I tweaked the software a while ago to make the bars a bit longer when all of the shops were quite close.
If the current situation continues I may need to undo that tweak.
I'll see if it settles down a bit in time.

1.Club Media-Easy call,great tasting bud,clean shop,NEVER a bad visit,been coming here about 10 years,always my favourite shop,like the lack of tourists too
2.Utopia-Great service and bud,non smoking missus doesnt like 'scruffy' shops so dont get to stay as long as i like though
Turned a shithole into a must visit in a short time, nice one Nel n Ingi
3.Voyagers-Nearly Paradox as i prefer to sit there, but had some great, and more unusual/rarely seen smokes here and love the monthly special and tasting tuesday, respect to HB for all the graft hes put in too

Re: Your 3 Favourite Coffeeshops *NEW!*
I had to choose the 3 which are mandatory for any Dam trip:
1) Dampkring (original)
2) Grey Area
3) De Kuil
Almost making the cut:
La Tertulia, Paradox, The Green Place, Barney's, Katsu and Mellow Yellow
1) Dampkring (original)
2) Grey Area
3) De Kuil
Almost making the cut:
La Tertulia, Paradox, The Green Place, Barney's, Katsu and Mellow Yellow

I wouldn't say I enjoyed all of them (Funkey Monkey didn't let us in last trip!) but I have more than 3 favourites, so I know what you mean. From the November 2012 trip the most frequently visited were;gromit wrote:utopia,...![]()

Re: Your 3 Favourite Coffeeshops *NEW!*
Up to a couple of years ago my top 3 were:
Rokerij, samenentereng, HGF
I also had plenty of other favourites and used to dash between them every trip. Now, last couple of years at least my visits have become much more refined. Ive discovered what coffeeshops i like, and closures had reduced that list to a couple and my fondness for smoker friendly bars means I really just buy and fly from a small list of places each trip.
Voyagers has completley ruled my purchases for the last couple of years. Its the menu i am always most exited about stepping up to. Silver bubble, skywalker og, kosher, pink sour grapefruit, the infamous butter... Theres been some ridiculously good weed behind the counter every visit. Plus the service is superb, and they care. These guys are into what they sell and its so enjoyable to have the smell tour of the jars on the shelf.
Homegrown Fantasy is really special to me. Its somewhere ive visited regularly since my first trip, in 2000. Its quality of product has never faultered and the menu changes much more slowly compared to many places, certain strains last for years. Its where the famous example of Cheese was to be found in 2008ish, which was the strain of the year in the dam in my mind. The service has never been bad, but its the bright cafe feel and atmosphere which make it a really attractive place to chill with a coffee and spliff for an hour. No monging out in a nice chatty atmosphere.
The third choice is quite hard actually the top two dominate my choices nowadays. Theres a few places ive really enjoyed like Katsu and utopia and little, and closures have seen the loss of a clear favourite the Rokerijs and the uniquely special samentereng (which i still cant spell) ....but i think ill choose as my 3rd favourite; 420/de kuil.
I didnt actually find 420 untill i joined ACD, and since then its been a regular feature. Its where i choose to introduce the mother in (common) law and the other halfs brother on their first visit. 420 is probably the best atmosphere for an evening smoke. Its a good volume of laughter and conversations, and nicely full often, so the feeling really matches the pub/bar feel of the interior. Ive spent some fantastic evenings in there. Theres a time and place for chilling to music on a bean bag, friday night in the dam is not that time, friday night i wanna be laughing and skinning up in 420 with friends.
