LOL. Listen, I have never been to a party in this town that costs 25, and I have seen some of the best DJs who come through Amsterdam. The Body & Soul party (google it) at ADE with Francois K, Danny Krivit and Joe Claussel was only 15E (20 at the door) and the promoters imported an amazing sound system just for this event. This party has no named DJs or bands (yet) and is being held at a pretty cheesy venue.

My suspicion is the price is so high because they don't expect that many tickets to be sold and it costs $$$$ to rent the Sand. My advice is for the promoters to have a more realistic party at a lower price. 25 is really an insult, imho.

I wish the promoters well, but seriously question their business model on this one.

And -wow- €4.20 round trip between Centraal and Sloterdijk.

These are the same people who organised the Cannalympics, that was a great event and completely free, with lots of free weed. I'm sure there will be bong challenges, volcano bags, outsized joints being passed round and such like at this event too. Could be very good, can't be worse value than the CC that's for sure and I don't begrudge Nol and Peter if they do make a few quid out of it. They've done a lot for the cause.

I remember the gathering last year, not a massive turnout, around 200 people (give or take the occasional stoner who passed by).
If people want to pay 25E for a ticket to the after-protest party, good on them. I'll read about it...
Whether this is a money making scheme, err... opportunity, a method of excluding "undesirables", or as simple as just wanting to have a party and spreading the cost among the masses instead of a handful of people paying for everything out of pocket -------- it's all good. Puff - Puff - Pass...

Post Script: Last year, the protest party was the 1st Cannalympics, at least it was for me.
No Cannalympics are scheduled during 4/20 this year although there's been talk of it happening in September.
Maybe the Cannalypics should be a one-off event. I've got my medallion...

I think I'll also stay at the Nes till they close. My appartment is at the Kloveniersburgwal and the party would be oposite direction. Only if I knew there would be tons of free weed and lots of young nasty girls, I would do the trip that far out of the center.
