If I'm not wrong in oakland there's a district called oaksterdam where there are some dispenseires where you can smoke at but obviously only for card's holders

The only way to buy in a shop in Cali is with a card period. There is an area named Oaksterdam but that doesn't mean there are coffeeshops that are open to the general public.

if you want the coffeeshop style atmosphere or weekly roving pot parties you need to be in a state where pot in legal. (-:

That poster is interesting. Free weed paid for with "member donations". When the wietpas was still a viable threat, I suggested a way around it would be for coffeeshops to charge an entry fee and then give weed away 'free' - thus circumventing the ban on selling to foreigners. Looks to me like this club skirts the law with a similar tactic.

And a little known fact that very few stoners know is all you need is a Cali PO box to get a Cali ID, no real residence required. Of course you would also have to be an American citizen.

Checking out this place tonight. I guess every Friday night they have a weekly party that's is open to the public. Suppose to have a really nice lounge area with bongs and oil rigs.

Jeez, stoners will wish anything into reality...
There are no coffee shops in the US, period. FULL STOP!!!
There aren't any laws on the books (yet) that establishes tax codes and the like. Business 101 (my college major is Business - 4th year on hold)...
No matter what some stoners and posers may believe and dream about in their cannabis fueled wet dreams, it ain't so Joe, it ain't so...
Now, if the comparison were to smoking lounges, that's an entirely different topic of conversation.
Apples and round rocks - the only things they have in common are their shape and that they can be thrown at idiots.
FYI for those that may think I'm splitting hairs.... I'm not the one passing off restricted access smoking lounges as coffee shops. Just saying...
