Sorry you got your panties in a bundle again Uncle Ron, but I don't give a flying fuck how you feel about a "legal" medical system in which everyone lies to get access. 90% of the "medical" patients in Colorado claim back pain just to get access to the dispensaries. Asking one of these liars to run into a shop and make a purchase for me doesn't bother me in the least.

Wow, flame on........ cool.
Seems I've struck a nerve with some, good, stimulates conversation.
However, please mind your manners. A civil conversation is a good thing, let's keep it that way. Thank you...
Now, where were we, ah yes, defending the illegal sale of prescription medication.

Point taken... +1redeyezman wrote:I do plenty of reading sir. In fact I have a thread regarding a story of a dispensery being shutdown, and then reopened anyway. Now I don't claim to follow every story regarding this but then again who does? As far how many have opened... Maybe the market is saturated? I would think after a decade demand has been met or close to iut. Neither I nor you could say with certainty if it has, but not everyone's drug/medicine of choice is cannabis.Uncle Ron wrote:Come on redeyezman, please do some reading...
In the past two years, how many dispensaries have opened in California versus closed in California? Wait for it...
Of those that were shut down, why? Hmm...on you perhaps?. Next...
So then, given your language and tone, you support the illegal sale of prescription drugs? Now that's fucked up, sad even.
How quickly does it take to shove it back at cha? This quick...
...now go do some more light reading, then come back. But then again, I'll have done some more myself.
...
Edit: already did some light reading and look at what I found here...

So some dispenceries get shutdown for selling to "patient dealers" while others do not? Hmmm I wonder what the difference is? One guy has a way to determine real patients, while the other guy is ignarant to who is a "prescription dealer"? C'mon UR get real. These people are testing the limits. Some get caught, and some don't. They could very easily turn away the "patient" who comes in daily for ounces or however they do it.
Given my language (English) and tone..... Tone is not able to be communicated via ASCII... I support a persons right to self medicate without gov'ment approving or not if its legitimate. Given your tone it seems you support following unjust laws, and letting big brother decide who can do what. I also support the right for shop owners (of any kind) to decide who the serve and do business with. If they break gov'ment rules and get caught, oh well...
I suppose I should go read the article you read (and only now reveal) so I can be enlightened by just how bad we stoners can be to ourselves.... This applies to you to Ron, but keep attacking(pissing) on others, that way you keep only like minded friends, and thus will be alway right/top.
To you it may seem I attack, I simply respond with raw truth that some find distasteful.
Read how some defend the illegal sale of a prescription drug. I don't take this lightly, but many stoners do, and that affects me - and you - and every weed smoker.
So, do we let the outsiders continue to control and police us, or do we clean up our own house?

Doctors don’t prescribe cannabis; they recommend its use to relieve a variety of symptoms. There is no such thing as a prescription for Marijuana that I am aware of, please correct me if I’m wrong. Doctors do this because they know cannabis is mostly benign and definitely non-toxic, if it gets in the wrong hands there is no chance of an overdose or any long term negative affects. Much different than a prescription drug.Uncle Ron wrote: I simply respond with raw truth that some find distasteful.

Raw truth? Raw yes. Truth? Maybe... Who amongst us can accurately provide an entire truth in one little post we write whilst stoned. A good effort perhaps, but far from the whole picture. That problem is as old as time I suppose, but now we do have the Internet so it's becoming easier to allow collaboration, and collective ideas to solve complex problems. The MMJ dispensaries where bad for black market thugs. Now abuse of said dispensaries are bad for pharmaceutical thugs. I ask that you further defend why this is bad for US stoners. We should obey one set of thugs instead of another? What is your vested interest in keeping people from abusing prescriptions. Most of these prescriptions are made to be abused, and be stronger than cannabis or alcohol. This way it's "legal" and more profitable. A dumb private will cry let's go blow up XYZ country because he relies on gov'ment, and has no care for how the actions would effect others. A lobbyiest would sell his soul to a politician to get his business a few laws that make him rich while putting others out of business because he can't compete, and relys on gov'ment to give him welfare. A drug lord might even use his money to grease the wheels to prevent legalization so he gets all the business. I could go on forever, but I hope the point is clear. People defend gov'ment regulated industries because they rely on that market manipulation. Are (cancer and worse) MMJ patients suffering because shops are closing down? I doubt it.... But I guess it's possible. If a stupid ass teenage can get pot consistently, I would think someone suffering would have lots of friends and family to help get the medicine required.Uncle Ron wrote: Point taken... +1

I cannot comment on the particulars but I can say Im sick of hiding. Hiding my grow, hiding my smoking, hiding my favorite hobby......etc
What I dont get i that some members here seem to relish the fact that we are in a precarious situation currently with all the legalaties..its almost like you few want us to get busted so you can say "I told you so!"
Whats strange to me is this is coming from some of the biggest pot heads/personal growers on the site! I have no idea what your individual situations are but usually this is because of fear..fear of losing ones income?!
I guess maybe you are only trying to caution us? I just have to say to me personally its kinda annoying and would think you would be happier and more encouraging...but whatever everyone has the right to their opinions and all that jazz..
Only thing is great for me is the knwledge that in a few years all this will be moot anyway.

Although I lack a soft touch and at times tend to kick the bees nest instead of using smoke (and mirrors)
, I stand by my convictions, and my opinions.
I will never support, in any form, the illegal distribution of prescription medication, especially cannabis.
Shame some don't share the same opinion. To each their own, however...
Who here is part of the problem, and who is part of a solution?

The real problem is a system where everyone fakes ailments to get access, the real solution just allowing everyone over 21 access.Uncle Ron wrote:Who here is part of the problem, and who is part of a solution?

Re: First US High Times Cannabis Cup Set For April 20 In Den
That is very close to right imo. It's not everyone. There really are patients that benefit from cannabis use. However, by far and away the largest group of card holders in Colorado are young males with minor ailments. It has been said here over and over that it is benign and it is a recommendation. There are still medical patients that won't register and buy from the black market. It runs the gamut and will until things really smooth out nationally years from now. Did you know you can still buy illegal moonshine in almost every state in the Union even though theres a liquor store on every corner. It is the society we live in. And I like it. Let me know if you need me to go to a Dispensary for you.Stanky Danky wrote:The real problem is a system where everyone fakes ailments to get access, the real solution just allowing everyone over 21 access.Uncle Ron wrote:Who here is part of the problem, and who is part of a solution?

I think you missed my point altogether. What does the TSA gain by wasting their time on someone with a little cannabis for personal use? Believe me they have this conversation daily in their meetings. "Don't bother with small amounts of pot because we are looking for another Richard Reed". They could care less about a Cannabis Cup. Maybe the volume of take out ticks up a little but believe me, thousands of people pass through DIA everyday and the TSA does not give a shit about legal pot in Colorado. It is not their gig at all. Not even a little bit. The Feds have said many times clearly, "we will not be going after any individual users". Get it now? I came back from the Cannabis Cup into Denver a few days after you did in Detroit. I got selected for the complete go through and I had just come from Iceland. So they did not know where I started out. When they started discovering all my schaag from the cup, we laughed and joked about it. He asked, "Do you have any bud?" I said, "we got better bud in Colorado dude". "But have at it". Fucker did take my seeds but only because they didn't have the import stamp. Don't sweat the TSA.luvtick wrote:Hmmm...milehigh wrote:What do you think the TSA's job is? Busting stoners with weed? It's not. They are trying to protect us from terrorism really and nothing more. I know someone who left DIA recently with live plants, OZ's of flowers, hash, oil, vaporizer pens(over 20) and joints all rolled up and ready to smoke at Schiphol. The TSA set the joints and vapor pen a side and asked about the rocks in the bag. Colorado rocks are collectible if you didn't know. So, I wouldn't worry to much about the TSA. It is legal in Colorado and they know it. Worse case is they might keep it for themselves, so pack it well. Fuck the police.USBONGLORD wrote:theres gonna be a party at that airport...TSA is gonna have a field day with the stupid ones....try to mail it....bet ya that aint gonna be so easy anymore...have a great party folks but leave it there, aint worth FEDERAL hassels...and remember smuggling is a federal offense, thats gonna cost a lot for lawyers..ill watch it on tv...but seriously, dont take any chances youll regret,i like most of ya and prison isnt for most of ya...be smart stone heads..
they are gonna make EXAMPLES of the dummies..dont be one of em
I know when we went through Detroit 2 years ago...before it was legalized in CO and WA...the TSA agents said to us, as they were going through every last item in our suitcases, "Do you think we don't know it was Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam?" Please note that medical marijuana is, and was 2 years ago, legal in Michigan...
I'm thinking the TSA agents in Denver just MAY know it's Cannabis Cup there...and maybe...just MAYBE...some people will want to take some home...
Let's not forget that the airports are FEDERAL...the law says it is legal in the STATE...even here in California, if you have weed in a NATIONAL park and a ranger busts you...even if you have a medical card...that ranger is a FEDERAL agent, and you, my friend, are going to jail...
Re: First US High Times Cannabis Cup Set For April 20 In Den
From an article in the good 'ol DENVER Westword...slightly old as it's from November 29, 2012:
"So...now that voters in Washington and Colorado have legalized small amounts of marijuana for adults over 21, does that mean you'll be able to fly between those states with your stash?
...
We posed our question to TSA spokesman David Castelveter earlier this week, and the response we received is somewhat ambiguous. Basically, Castelveter told us that looking for marijuana isn't a priority for TSA agents. In fact, he revealed that the TSA doesn't search specifically for drugs at all. But if marijuana is found during a screening, agents will refer the matter to local law enforcement -- who may care a lot more than the TSA does.
...
In his response to questions about recreational marijuana this week, however, Castelveter made it clear that the TSA is a federal agency and therefore doesn't consider marijuana legal under any circumstances. He ends his note, sent via e-mail, with a subtle reminder that the TSA still has the power to ruin your day, regardless of what state laws may say."
