Does anybody know where I am best buying these? Also, do these work on the bus and train also? Any ideas on prices etc?

Thanks

Out of Centraal Station, white building in front of you to the left. Two dayers are 12E. Valid on tram, bus, metro.

Cards are activated the first time you touch in on a tram, bus or entrance to Metro. You must touch out as you get off a bus, tram or leave a metro station. If you don't touch out it will invalidate the pass.

The card reader on the trams is strong enough to read the card through your wallet or purse. You don't have to fumble with the card, I just pull out my wallet and hold it up to the reader "ding", my wife just holds her hand bag up "ding". Just remember to "ding" ON and OFF

"ding" is the sound the reader makes

I get mine at the TI in Schiphol. It's good for tram, bus and Metro. You can also get your train ticket to Centraal there as well. It beats the shit out of a long wait at the GVB office just east of Centraal.

I also recommend getting them at the VVV in Schipol if you're arriving that way. There's no queue there but usually quite a big one at the GVB office outside Centraal Stn.

Ive used these on my first trips a lot.. but on my last trip I just got rechargeable chip card an topped it with some euros. It is valid for several years so my advice would be to get one if you plan coming back :)
