Maybe they didnt done school and cant measure no good.

A pub closed in London this week. I was going to drop in for a pint but now can't. I feel robbed. It's a tragedy. I might have to go to a different pub!!!!!! That pub closing could cause the entire economy to fall even further!!!!

If another pub closes no-one will ever visit London again. Er...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( :( :( :( :(

Thanks billytiz and bedge for the information. ;)
Kermit, I totally agree with your statement (paraphrasing) that the day Voyagers closes is the day I stop visiting (not only because it's closed... )
I've done about 90% of the tourist stuff, the remaining 10% or so are areas of total disinterest.
Why do I continue visiting Amsterdam? The cannabis culture, that's it... no other reason.
If there does come a day when all shops are closed permanently, that will probably be the last day I visit The Netherlands. Sad but true...

Regardless of my views and opinions, The Netherlands isn't my country, I don't have to live (deal with) the plethora of neighbors/tourists coming to my country and using it for their Sodom and Gamorrah, ala Las Vegas.
Something for the stoner masses to think about - how would your community respond if people began opening these types of establishments and along with that - everything the Dutch have and continue to experience? Here's my take - most would be screaming at the top of their lungs - NIMBY NIMBY NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard).
It's all good when on somebody else's property, you don't have to deal with all the BS = clean/repair/replace public use areas.

The Dutch, whether a majority or not, have decided that enough is enough... the writing has been on the wall for several years.
Some have mentioned what and where in 10 years... I would suggest that within 10 years, the RLD will be a shell of what it is today.
Like Boston's Combat Zone and NYC's Times Square, the RLD will also change, it's only a matter of time.... and like it or not, accept it or not, the time has come.

Some Europeans (especially those living on island nations) might want to think about preparing their teener set, that quite possibly when they become of age, there may not be what was once a stoner/drinker/whoring playground called Holland.

Uncle Ron, it seems like Amsterdam is extremely orderly and not overrun with loud tourists..ive been going every year for about 10 years and the only real crime or disturbance I have seen was in a bar at 3 am where some local cold cocked another local.I agree they probably are embarrassed of their reputation. However since the Netherlands and amsterdam are so much more than weed and sex , it seems a shame to make such rash changes to soothe an apparently fragile ego.and as for nimbly, most cities would trade their crime and disturbance numbers for those of amsterdam.like the cops say "you are creating a solution for a problem that doesnt exist"

Well, that's a beauty of socialists... they always find solution to problems, created only by themselves. That's funny that for several years the schools had been fine, but now when the Wietpas couldn't be held and it's being revoked, they try to find another way to control society permanently.
Let's be honest, you cannot buy weed if you're not 18, right? So, what's the problem for a high school student to go 50 metres further to purchase their weed if they want? They are legally adults so it's their responsibility what actions they take... but well the theory is nice but living in EU is different.

Sheeba has gone, and apparently (I read it on Facebook) Hunter's have bought Het Filiaal and Bros coffeeshops, both in the Noord, and they're now stocking the Hunter's menu.
Next trip: September 2023 with the missus.

Sat down and read through this entire thread this evening, had no idea this was/is happening.

Whilst I agree it's a shame it doesn't appear to be as bad as everyone first thought, the good coffee shops won't disappear they'll just move somewhere else

I'm back in dam on the 22nd of April, missed a few of the iconic coffee shops in dam on my previous two trips so will make sure I go to those that are decent and will be closing on my trip there. If you've missed some shops as I have or a shop you love is on the affected list, it's a damn good excuse (if one was needed) to get yourself down to dam before July

I love amsterdam but if the Dutch want to get all conservative on us and abandon there. "tolerance " reputation....screw them...the world is opening up to cannabis... There are places with better weather and better weed too.....
