WiFi in Amsterdam

Post by Taylor »

I might well be staying in a flat in Amsterdam in my trip in May. Now I know there are many hotspots in Amsterdam, but the flat doesn't have WiFi. Is there any way before I go I can arrange a personal hotspot or a sim car to tether internet from my phone. Are there any sim card internet only services or are there WiFi services like BT's one in London and Glasgow where you can rent WiFi time with no bandwidth limit?

All of the major carriers offer dongles and hot spots. Just go into one of the phone shops along the Kalverstraat. And there is this thread too. https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... 16&t=16681

Wait, are you asking for a good data only prepaid SIM card to go into your phone?

I'm on three mobile in the UK. I was either looking for a service where you can connect your laptop to a city wide wifi or phone for that matter. Or on my Samsung galaxy note 2 buy a prepaid SIM with internet access which I could then tether to my laptop. I'd like unlimited although I know this is probably not going to happen

Got a sim only unlocked iphone5 on PAYG with giffgaff. What's the best option these days for tinternet in Dam? Yes I have read the other threads but they're pretty old now (2011), so I reckon things must have changed a bit. Used to be Vodaphone - still?

Ta (probably there 5-7/4)

Still your best and cheapest option for data.

Lebara @ €10 for 1gb isn't bad, not sure what the network is like there.
https://lebara.liquix.eu/

Or how about https://www.bliep.nl/#/home
€1 a day gives you 3.6 Mbps download and 1Mbps upload with a 2gb usage.
