From April 22nd KLM flights is Europe will charge E15 for a hold bag on-line or E30 at the airport. Longhaul is not affected. There is a way around it. Just simply enrol into their Flying Blue programme and you are exempt from the charges and will earn miles.

Until the greedy fookers who run airports and countries lower THEIR FEES and TAXES, airlines don't much have a choice. Almost forgot those who supply the aviation fuel

But you get a decent allowance for checked luggage on KLM compared to other airlines except Emirates which is expensive these days.
One of my few options for direct flights to Mokum so I tend to pay the 1-200 eu premium. Friendly and efficient service. Good size seats. Free Heiniken. Entertainment system. I'm not happy about the American connection KLM now have as in my experience USA airlines are not very customer friendly due to being over worked and under staffed.

Thanks for the info, Sailor. I'm flying round trip from Amsterdam-Madrid on KLM in May, so this will motivate me to enroll. Does anyone remember when flying commercial was fun? Those were the days.

I remember those days. It was fun and casual. People were not afraid. Security was lax. Customs officers still had a job to do though.

I wasn't smuggling in those days, so I never thought about that, if that's what you're referring to. I meant more in terms of the airline service, and the way they didn't nickel and dime you every way possible. Sort of like the way airlines now charge you extra if you want exit row seating

We're flying Glasgow-Amsterdam in June. The flights are working out around £100 each return with KLM so I'm booking with them rather than Easyjet this time. It's not really any more expensive and the flight times are a lot more convenient i.e. we're not getting dumped in Amsterdam last thing at night.

From what I understand, it's only if youbook your flight after the date, rather than all flights after that date. I hope so anyway.

we booked with easyjet, in january for this sunday flight leaving glasgow at 15.15 arrive amsterdam at 17.50,cost £21,50 each,fly back on the wednesday night at 20.30 arrive in glasgow at 21.30 cost £26.00 each,great prices if you can get them

When we flew last year, the flight was scheduled to leave Glasgow at about 8pm or something like that. When they were pushing back to depart they got a nail stuck in a tyre and we were delayed for over an hour. Which is suprising, because you wouldn't have thought there were any parts on a plane that were nailed on but there you go.

The KLM flight leaves at around 8 in the morning, which basically gives us an extra day in Amsterdam. When you add in the charges for checked in luggage the difference is negligible, really.

Have a brilliant one, chap. I wish it was me heading out this weekend.

cheers m8 im going in november as well but i dont think easyjet fly to amsterdam in november so it will be klm then
