ACD boat trip 4-20-2013
As it's less than 60 days till 4-20 I start this new thread to get as many people as possible together for the boat trip. Our local agent is going to support us with checking out the company.
If we have to reserve etc..
First we should fix the date.
Second we have to count the heads that wan't to take part.
Third do the reservation.
Finally have a lot of fun.
4-19 ? don't know, my arrival day, have other plans.
4-20 is not possible too much to do that day already.
4-21 would be my fav, Haarlem flower parade can be missed imo
4-22 would be an option too for me
What do you think?

Hey Bud,
Some good work, maybe I can throw something in that could very well freak you the fook out - contact the local agent about the possibility of taking a boat on Saturday from Amsterdam to Haarlem. It's possible, we did the research last year and talked about it a little. Two different routes, the Ij being the shortest and fastest, however the south/west route being more conducive for our purposes.
I think this is doable, however there is the cost factor to consider.
Food for thought and discussion, perhaps.
...
EDIT:
Seems I may have been stoned when choosing a day, not realizing the plethora of activities on that special day.
I'm in, and I'm good with any day except = on the day before my arrival, on the day I arrive, on the day I leave, and on the day after I have left.

Voyage of the Stoned...

diddo!,....
Re: ACD boat trip 4-20-2013
19th would be the best date for me, regardless if it's cruising around Amsterdam or Haarlem.
Like Colina said about 4-20....to much to do. Never been to Birdy's or the flower parade, so I'm up for that on the 21st.
And the 22nd, the wife gets in town, so that day is out.
Yeah.....the 19th

The flower parade arrives in Haarlem in the evening about 8pm om the 20th, so the day would be free for activities.

Sunday afternoons can be dull so that might be a good time for some nonsense. Or cruise to haarlem on the saturday, one way, after the 420 bits, and folk can return as and when,. Whatever, Alice and I are flexible but we're leaving Monday afternoon.
I like the idea of sailing to Haarlem, I think I've done the sights of Amsterdam to death

The 19th or 22nd would be my votes as the two other days will be filled very soon....there is no way that I would be missing the 420 party at t'Nes...
I like the idea of a boat ride to Haarlam, are the flower floats still there on the 22nd?

On the evening of Friday April 19, there will be a parade at 19.30 in Noordwijkerhout. The parade and floats will be illuminated in Noordwijk at 21.00 and in Haarlem on the eveneming of Saturday 20. They will remain on view in Haarlem on Sunday April 21 until 19.00.Trad wrote:The 19th or 22nd would be my votes as the two other days will be filled very soon....there is no way that I would be missing the 420 party at t'Nes...![]()

There's some stoned rambling questions and thoughts on this here:
https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... 40#p315929
I'm particularly interested to know how much people care about the flowers in Haarlem. There's a lot of competition for time on Sunday 21st. It's the only opportunity to see the floats because they'll be gone after 7pm that day. On the other hand, it would be a good day to tour around the three Hestia winners and present cups. We could probably fit in a typical 1 hour boat trip alongside the winners tour but I doubt we could manage Haarlem too.
On the days leading up to the 20th we should be touring the nominated shops. That probably has to be 18th and 19th because many people won't have arrived by 17th. If Birdy is a candidate then that means getting to Haarlem before the 20th.
A quick scan suggests that more people are around in the week following 4-20 than in the week before.
It's all too complicated. I'm off to fill a Volcano chamber ...

Re: ACD boat trip 4-20-2013
The local agent is still at work with checking out amsterdam-boat.
But I think there will only be two possible dates, Friday 19th in the afternoon (same time of Smirks T&T) or Monday the 22nd in the afternoon. We should fix a date soon to make agents work easier.
the 20th is full with other dates, 21st is the flower thing in Haarlem some people want to go to.
so only Friday and Monday are free for the boat tour.
A tour to Haarlem by boat is not possible imo, takes too long and no view. We have to stay in Amsterdam without stops for coffeeshops because that just takes too long and makes it more expensive. Boat tour and cup presentation have to be separated imo.
