cut & bake cookies

Post by Nimrod »

Do these exist in Amsterdam?

If not at Albert Heijn, could these be found at Eichholtz, that ex-pat food shop on Leidsestraat?

Warm cookies and cold Chocomel...mmmm :D

You know, I'm almost positive I saw some kind of ready made cookie dough in the AH last October. I could be wrong though, I was pretty baked. I have this memory of you buying the most horrible smelling mystery meat and trying to microwave it as well...

Yeah...that was the gepaneerde schnitzel. Even though it should have been pan-fried  , it was still pretty bad.

Do you like peanut butter cookies? If you're going to have an oven I can give you a 3 ingredient recipe to make some (rich, but tasty) cookies.

I LOVE PB cookies!!

Three ingredients (is one of the ingredients 'love'?) sounds manageable.

Lay it on us...

1 cup of sugar 1 cup of peanut butter (I like crunchy) 1 egg- (see it's even easy to remember.)

mix everything together until it's well combined. Roll into balls (a little smaller than a golf ball), roll the balls in sugar. Line them up on a lightly greased cookie sheet or piece of parchment paper.

Smash them down a little with a fork (about 1/4 of the way)

Bake at 350 degrees F about 13-15 minutes until they are golden around the edges.

Yummy to mix in 1/4 cup of oatmeal or 3 tablespoons flour if you want a cakier cookie.
You can also add chocolate chips.

These cookies are rich and sweet. (Stan's not a fan, James loved them. They are my Mr's favorite thing EVER.) They will absolutely keep you from whiting out :-)

Also, they have a high tolerance for temperature variation (if they are too dark, turn the heat down!) and I usually "guess" 1 cup using a mug or something random.

Also, you can store the dough wrapped in saran wrap or a plastic baggie in your fridge (homemade cut and bake).

Thanks, A!!

Sounds easy-peasy, especially for the stoner on holiday.
Gotta have those fork marks, imo. That's just how we were raised.
Cannot stand over-done PB cookies, so I'll smoke in the kitchen and watch 'em real good.

pinda kaas...check
suiker...check
ei or howeverthehellyousayeggindutch...check

Hmmm...not enough sugar for Stan, huh?

Thanks, Marco. That's what I heard from (Apartment) Paul as well.

You guys are missing out on some serious snacking convenience.

Remember kids...do not eat raw cookie dough.
Yeah, right.
Some goes in the oven, some goes in the cookie-hole.

Sounds like a test run of the peanut butter cookies are in order. (Or some rolls of cookie dough on ice in your checked bag? If you froze them first they'd probably make it.)

Have a great trip!

Haha, I don't check baggage, so your recipe will just have to do.

I wonder what TSA would think of a roll of cookie dough with wires stuck into it?

Here's an  that's not half-bad...a store that sells nothing but hand-made, small batch, custom cookie doughs.

Just what those Dutch milfs need, so they can waste even more time (instead of baking at home) blocking the aisles at AH with their gabbing.

Well, since you probably won't find any in Mokum, you could always ask me.
I have access to a military commissary, like shopping at Whole Foods.
I like GM's recipe, it looks easy, and with the correct amount of little bits of this and that... :)
What else do we need for H1 Cowbell Central? Send PM or email...
