Hi guys,

wondering if you lot could give me some help. I had a look in the search bar for hash and what not but there is too much info for the search engine.

I seem to have access to more varieties of hash at the moment, and I was wondering how can I tell if it is good quality product? Clean etc? Characteristics when burnt? etc

Any advice would be great.

Managed to get some Hash in, seems quite nice quite sticky and maluable. Any suggestions how to smoke it. Do I have to burn it?

Joint with baccy or herb, roll some sausages of hash.

Bongs and pipes might be another option.

Might be a little late, but actually, rolling "sausages" or "spaghetti" with black hash (afghan, nepal, indian, etc.) is the WORST way to prepare one's joint.
It sure is funny, I did it as well the first times I came across some Afghani charas, but it does waste a lot.

What you want is your hash to get vaporized. If you roll a spaghetti, you will minimize the surface of hash in contact with hot air, most of it will be inside and unable to vaporize correctly, and mostly burn = waste.

I will not go into the delicate technique of hash burning as it's easy to ruin the stuff if badly done and not all are suitable, but the easiest way to maximize the hash vaporization ratio is to make tiny flakes of it , thin & small flakes which can be mixed in a homogenous way, thus providing a fine & tasty smoke & maximizing the effect. You need long enough nail on your thumb, so you can use it to spread the heated resin on your index (always use the blue part of the flame and be careful not to heat too much, boiling resin burning is excruciatingly painful). Then let it cool, and voilà, you have a thin sheet of hash which you can break up in tiny bits for an even mix.

Sausages in a joint are the worst way? Who rolls your joints?
As soon as it burns its a waste. Flakes or sausages? Doesnt matter.
Anyway, gustos son de diferentes colores :mrgreen:
Mike you dont have to burn it, try a Vaporizer.

I've been rolling my own joints for the past 23 years Paco, and those have been praised from Amsterdam to Manali through Chitral.

I advise you to learn more about hashish & "joint chemistry", then you'll understand why sausages and flakes aren't the same, at all...

Ahh ok, didnt know you were the Hash Rolling King. You missed the main point. Burning/combusting is a waste not the sausage.
Think about it, for maybe, another 23 years.

I like flakes with milk.

Actually what Paco is saying makes perfect sense. The key words here are "surface area," at least how I'm seeing it. You could also make the sausages ultra thin.

No I'm no king whatsoever, but beside being a medicine, hashish has also been my work for the same past 23 years and even though I know I still have a lot to learn (like about that Sikkim Bamboo Goo, or Tuvan Mazlat) I think I have my fair share of knowledge about it. Go Pakistan, Kashmir, Himachal, there, people who've been growing, producing, using the plant and its by-products since generations will show you things you can't see in A'dam.
Read again my post slowly, maybe without smoking. Nowhere do I oppose burning/combustion versus sausages. That's totally meaningless.
It's called physics, for a same volume, a sphere has less surface in contact with the air than ANY other shape, period Why do you think Temple Ball hash is rolled into balls ? because less surface in contact with air means less oxydation and helps for better & longer storing. And a sausage is nothing but a bunch of spheres stuck together. Try for yourself, get 2g of gooey stuff. Make one into a ball, and flatten the other one to the max. You'll see you'll hve more than enough to completelly wrap your ball with the sheet. More than twice the surface available.

Maing sausageultra-thin might not be best solution either, for the very thin strands will eventually entangled during the skinning up process.

No need to re read your post. As I said, think again, for another 23 years. You might come to a conclusion.

I wont discuss that issue with a know-it-all-guy-with-23-years-experience-in-everything. So I will leave it with "talk is cheap".
Anyway, just a hint for you: flakes will be NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF SPHERES, your words...Why? Because it melts (heat->physics!). Ouch.
