We will be in A-dam for two weeks in June, bookending a trip to Ireland.
Please, can anyone give us tips or advice about what to do/ not to do in Ireland, and is it possible to take a bit of weed with us when we travel? (by air)

I am a seasoned A-dam visitor, but have never been to the Emerald Isle.

my advice would be skip on the Ireland trip and stay in Amsterdam longer
talking from experience..the weed in Ireland is not great and very hard to get if you dont know someone in the loop,
yeah we have good beer but thats about it

id stay in amsterdam ,dublin is lovely mate if you have never being before id say check it out pm me if needed a bit dear for food n drink but plenty to do nightlife is good and there is plenty of history so there is sights to be seen same as most city's in europe its what you make of it any questions just ask

Living in Dublin myself and I brought smoke over from Amsterdam last time I was coming home.
Just in the hand luggage, Ireland has fairly lax laws and enforcement when it comes to small ammounts of weed. Wouldn't bring more than a half ounce with you especially if your not a resident It could very well look like someone smuggling smoke in for resale if you cant say I live here I smoke daily this is personal use.

Don't bring weed from Amsterdam to Cork. They often have the dog there to check both passengers and luggage

At all times play the American tourist when going thru customs,be brazen and walk up to the desk ask loads of questions which would be stereotypical of a 'YANK' [please note I am not being offensive],they will probably help you carry a bag full of crack to your waiting taxi.The Irish have a weird love all things American approach which just may help you more than say an East European tourist,in fact try and walk behind a visitor who has an East European passport or accent,you could then probably walk through with a bazooka under your arm.

yeah bring as much weed as you can carry, theres always a few empty cells in the nick that would look good with a couple of thick yank smugglers in them

My advice is forget about Northern Ireland, there's pish all to see here, plenty off shite to listen to though.

Book yourself an extra couple of days in Amsterdam instead, its what id do.
