I have booked a room here, has anyone stayed here before if so how was it? Also would this be in walking distance from Amsterdam central

no i havent but wow , have a look a www.9292.nl for bus info , imo i would try to cancel and rebook someplace closer, unless the deal was too good to pass

I think for the dates im going it was the best option, the rest of the hotels avaliable looked a bit grim to be honest. I think if it comes to it i might have to take taxi's to and from Amsterdam central

Bus 22 or 48 brings you to Centraal Station in less than 20 minutes. Just get one of the GVB passes to cover your stay. If you're going to taxi's regularly into town you might as well spend that money and book a hotel in the center. http://en.gvb.nl/ovinmamsterdam/Pages/bestdeal.aspx
