Question to home recorders (if there's any)

Post by Mikissa »

Rock, rap, metal, jazz, it's not relevant...

Take a big toke and please tell me how you imagine yourself recording music 10 years from now.
I'm working on it :D

And tomorrow? :D

I would like to know from anyone who has tried at least once what he (let's be serious, we're all guy) would do for a simpler yet more powerfull way to record, what he thinks is impossible today, what should be made easier and so on

Nothing more important than a stoner's feedback

Well, since it's now entirely possible to play, record and mix a track from bed, i'm hard pressed to think of any way to improve that... Although, if i really had to come up with something it would be an auto-beat/pattern recognition system that worked instantaniously... I hate having to play around with drum tracks!...Also it would know when i've stopped playing, what key i was in, and, hopefully, what i actually meant to play! :D

As a sound engineer I can't see a way to improve home recording, but I definitely see one to improve live mixing. In 10 years I hope we won't have to use cables anymore and every mic/DI box/... Would be plugged with a Bluetooth device sending their signals straight to the mixer. I know they already sell systems like this, maybe in 10 years it will be everywhere
