SidechainMusic are fresh from their most recent project, the massive ‘The Raising’ LP, which was
featured across all online channels, including Kmag.co.uk amongst others. The album was incredibly
well received, getting DJ support from a range of top names. Now, they are back with a new release from Audio Habitat, Confrontation/Conspiracy.
The label, since starting out back in 2006, have successfully covered a great deal of ground right across drum & bass, appealing to fans of dark, liquid and jump up alike. Founded with a philosophy of funk, they have raided the crates right across the globe, representing the UK, France, Germany and beyond. Audio Habitat, for example, represent Stuttgart, and are at the vanguard of the German d&b scene. Since falling in love with the breakbeats back in ’92, they have gained valuable DJ and production experience, resulting in a raft of singles and EPs, and reaching a zenith on the recent Raising LP.
The new single is something different. The quality is clear, the intent is obvious, and the dancefloor damage is immediate.
Confrontation rises perfectly, with some tempered kicks leading into some switching electronics, before more elements are added into the mix which is clear and never crowded. Things take on a mean outlook, with tuff drums cascading into your brain throughout.
Conspiracy meanwhile opens doors into other dimensions with ease. A spacey intro complete with bouncing effects soon gives way to some pure darkness, with a chasm-opening drop which crash lands into some churning, gurning bassline work. Audio Habitat do what they do best, keeping things steady and in control. The beats bounce, and the bass rumbles, and crowds will be left in awe at the power of Audio Habitat and Sidechain Music.
Do not sleep on Confrontation/Conspiracy, as both tracks are set to make a major impact on the worldwide drum & bass scene this year.
