Benson's BBQ

Post by Quazer »

Seems as if I found yet another gem in Amsterdam... The Place is called Benson's BBQ. The waiter said it opened 1 1/2 years ago.

Address: Overtom 417, 1054 JR Amsterdam, +31(0)020 41 23 703, bensonbbq.nl

You guys can forget about the Klos from now on. Best Burger I had in Amsterdam so far. Prices are quite moderate for such high quality food. Paid 10,50 for a burger. Finished the burger but had no more room for the fries. Steaks are a bit more pricey but waaay cheaper than the Klos. When I entered it smelled of charcoal and beaf. Check the place out if you are into steaks and burgers, I also saw some interesting salads on their menu (not that I would care much for salad).

Thanks for this! Will check it out. How was the burger, specifically the bun? Sometimes here they ruin a decent burger by using a giant and too chewy bun.

Thanks again, good find

I hate it when the bum is so big and hard that it will stick in-between your teeth. I'd say the bum was chewy but still soft enough, like some self made bread. The burger wasn't served on a plate but on a wooden cutting board. Beside the burger there was a small bowl with BBQ sauce - which looked freshly made as well. The meat was the best about it (as it should be). I'm not that good in describing food in English but hope this helped. The fries came in a seperate bowl. Was easy to tell that those were also not froozen fries because of their shape, taste and looks - self cut. :)

Had a Ribeye steak (medium) yesterday. I loved it, great meat, nothing was wasted. Even the the salad was good, although as I posted before, I don't really give a damn about salads at BBQ places. I was also considering to have one of the homemade cherry cheese cakes... but was too stuffed up after the steak.

p.s. Saw a good offer on one of their boards. A three course meal (think it said you can make your own combo but that would be too good to be true) for 25 euros... ain't too bad if ya ask me... :)

So not actually BBQ, but a steakhouse?
Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?
