best place for brekkie

Post by dajaxman »

Coming to dam next weekend, any recommendations on breakfast in the dam? Staying in the RHO just off dam square, closer to the square the better

Thanks in advance

De Bakkerwinkel or Greenwoods would be my suggestions. The Dutch aren't big on eating breakfast outside of the home so it can be hard to find a restaurant open before 9.

You consider that breakfast? More of a quick snack when you have the munchies.

Go to coffee shop Popeyes is on the Harlemerstrat
And across the road is Barnes breakfast bar which is also a coffee shop
And the most expensive out of the two and I think the staff are friendlier in Popeyes
I think both open at eight.
Hope you have a great time also check some the travel logs can find what's good at the moment
And the best shops and lots of other goodies
peace to all who walk through greener fields

If you are at the Rho then try Susie's Saloon for a full english/irish brekkie. Go down Damstraat to OZ Voorburgwal, turn right and it's next to Rick's cafe (opposite GH Centrum). Or Stones Cafe. Both a bit touristy but they are close and you can smoke in both (or could-it has been 2 years for me!) and a good leaping off point.. :P

If its the RHO on Nes they do a stellar breakfast , obviously not smoke friendly but jus go outside after .

I like Barneys Uptown occasionally , Broodje Berts good for a BLT too

Greenwoods, their egg/smoked salmon Benedict is delicious! A friend had their special which looked like a tasty omelette.

Breakfast doesn't get a lot better than the breakfast at the Krasnapolsky Hotel.
It's not cheap, but there's an amazing choice, buffet style, including everything you could ever want hot and cold, eggs anyway u like them cooked in front of you, unlimited everything, champagne, smoked salmon, massive choice of pastries, etc.

A good brekkie maybe?
BUT do you come home with unexplained insect bites on your bod ( probably fleas) after sleeping in their beds? Several of the places I have stayed have added this little extra to my stay at no extra charge I might add!

Sorry, off topic I know but it just occurred to me !
