What Lemming can remember of 4-20 2013 + pics - Day 3

First stop this morning is Voyagers.
I meet Mrs HB while strolling down the Geldersekade and Mr HB at Voyagers.
The rest of the crew are over at Café Batavia on the other side of Oudezijds Kolk. That's OK, it gives me a chance to chat with HB.
The conversation is short-lived though.
Dabbing glassware appears and I'm treated to some wax.
HB prefers solvent-less wax to BHO.
It's lovely but, as it's my first hit of the day, it takes the top of my head off.
What were we talking about?

Sir Highly

Through the window, Cafe Batavia can be seen across the canal

Blitzed, thanks to Mr Highly, blessings be upon him, I stagger out of Voyagers and join everyone in the bar.

The entrance is on Prins Hendrikkade, opposite the station

but the prime spot is at the back, with the view back up to Voyagers.

This is where I find everyone, chilling with beer and spliffs.

From Batavia it's off to La Tertulia for the Dice Man.
We take a scenic route through Haringpakkerssteeg into Nieuwendijk and then along Brouwersgracht and up the Prinsengracht. Very pretty.

Image I love the Jordaan. This former artisan's district is nicely skewiff to it's neighbour.
Whereas the grid pattern in the Grachtengordel (canal belt) is parallel with and perpendicular to the river Amstel, in the Jordaan it follows ancient ditches which, in turn, probably followed tributaries of the Amstel.
As a result, on the border between the two, along the Tertulia side of Prinsengracht, buildings aren't rectangular.
The right window looks towards the Grachtengordel and the left window faces the Jordaan.

I must've been wasted because I don't remember much about what happened in Tertulia. I don't even remember taking these pictures.

Our final stop on this crawl is back at Eerst Hulp again.

Lots of people are in town on this eve of the 20th so there's a good turnout in the Nes this evening.
Another lovely day of hanging out with wonderful forum members in excellent coffeeshops draws to a close. 4-20 tomorrow!

Very nice, Mr Lemming... Love the look of La Tertulia... It seems like a rather tranquil place.?. The impulse to add this joint to my map has suddenly struck... I look forward to a visit. :D

Thanks again!

Thanks KeyMonCha. Yeah, I think Tertulia is cool. I've been there many times over many years.

Hopefully I'll get 4-20 day up soon.
