Had an interesting convo with a friend from washington state...at some point the feds will bust colorado and wash...not a matter of if, but when. Sad.

Tell your friend that a guy from Colorado disagrees. They have nothing to gain by intervening and in fact would tie up limited resources they admit are better used elsewhere. Now you've had a conversation with a guy in Colorado that says the Feds will stay out of state business.

I cannot predict the future and neither can a guy living in Washington State. My best guess is, no or little federal intervention. Regardless, cannabis has been here for thousands of years and will be here for thousands more. Thanks to people like us the supply is ample and will remain so regardless of man made laws.

Come on milehigh, you have to know this isn't going to end without the feds eventually trying to break it up at least once or twice. It is the power structure trying to maintain their control of the government. Alcohol, tobacco, prescription drugs companies are the biggest supporters of political campaigns. I think you are a smart, educated and learned person when it comes to things marijuana, but on this topic I think you have the pot blinders on. No disrespect meant...and I hope you are right....but I think you are going to be proven wrong before you are right if you follow what I mean.

I'm with the Bonglord. The Federal Government will not acquiesce and make weed legal in our lifetimes due to the fact of so many treaties signed worldwide would need to be re-negotiated before that could occur. The best you can hope for is a situation similar to the Netherlands. Its not legal and they choose to look the other way. Colorado and Washington are in the Feds sights, make no mistake about it. I suggest those in Colorado or Washington pay their taxes.

Hey my fellow stoners,
Instead of continually looking into a hazy crystal ball to determine what, if anything, the US Govt. might do, just go live your lives.
Don't be a member of an organization that cultivates, distributes, and/or sells cannabis, and then you'll be good to go, mostly.
But as with all things stoner, there will be many who will continually refuse to adjust their puff-puff-pass attitude.
I could just as easily state that the Feds won't do anything mainly because political careers would be in jeopardy, but even that opinion has more holes than Swiss Cheese.
Back to the topic at hand - so why were these 103 dispensaries closed? I still haven't read anything on here addressing what is the single most important question - why? Nothing but silence from the puff-puff-pass crowd cause that would mean them having to face reality, fact, and truth.

Washington state is a little different as far as there law, but Colorado is golden......even if the Feds do raid some dispenseries or a large growers...all they will do is take there own taxes away as the law let's u grow your own at home.(the Feds will not be kicking down doors of homes for 6 plants)....and the law allows people to sell to other people in private.....so it will be legal to buy it , to grow it , and to have it......are the Feds going to start stop and frisks in boulder ? I think not......it's not going to be easy, they will not just give up ,,but they have already lost...there's a lot of support growing in gov on this ....it will not be Obama .....he is no friend to progressives, but it does not matter... Alaska is next to fall and in 2016. It will be Cali, Maine, Oregon , and maybe Nevada?... And international treaty's are ignored a lot when congress passes laws.....
