Snuff tobacco
I'm looking to cut back on my cigarette smoking, and viewing snuff as an alternative. The eventual plan is kick them altogether, but it seems a lot better than E-cigarettes, gum, spray, and patches... All which are shite. Also it's like £3 for a tin, which will last a lot longer than a 10pack of fags
I tried it a few years back and did quite enjoy it. Does anybody have experience in this? I know it's a hell of a lot healthier but obviously its still not good for you.
*if you're gonna comment saying smoking is bad/wrong please don't, I've not got the time*

I've dipped snuff for 30 years, bad habit but never smoked a cig.
I forgot to pack extra Copenhagen on my last trip to the 'Dam, looked all over, none to be found!, So if you go that route, pack extra!

Can I ask why you think E-Cigs are shit?
Personally, I think some are a pile of wank, but there are quite a few that I think work a treat... ...You just have to look around... Quite similar to finding decent gear in the Dam!
I've had one of these for two years:

...Ends up costing me less than a tenner every month or two, depending on usage.

Re: Snuff tobacco
i think e cigs are ok for what there for (giving up) I used them for 3 weeks in January and have not smoked a ciggie since nor a e ciggie they helped my craving after lunch in work and in the evening but I know people who are using the e thing over a year with no plan on giving it up , I smoke pure reefers now and my lungs are clearing day by day

Re: Snuff tobacco
Iv had those Ecigs, they're Ok at best. Normally help me for a week or 2, but the taste is weird and my throat starts to hurt because I just sit there doing little smoke tricks for hours at a time. You're just meant to smoke it for 5 min but I always forgot and kept carrying on.
Snuff seems ok because it's actual tobacco, fills your craving and involves no smoke

For some reason, I think you might get more of a sore throat with snuff... Did you ever get those bits of tobacco slip through your roach and land on your tongue, or even worse, the back of your throat? ...Burns like hell sometimes!
You'll have to let us know how this works out... I'll be interested in the results.
Re: Snuff tobacco
From what I've read it'll make me sneeze rather than a sore throat
A decreet pinch of snuff seems better than whacking out a big fake ciggerette

You will be substituting mouth cancer for lung cancer....

However, the risk of head-and-neck cancer from snuff is less than the risk of lung, head-and-neck, bladder and a lot of others.Marco wrote:You will be substituting mouth cancer for lung cancer....
So still a bad idea, but less bad. Plus you won't stink up the room and yourself
Re: Snuff tobacco
Yeah that's the idea, I'm not prepared to give up tobacco for good. The practicality of it would be a quick pinch instead of having a fag in my car (hotboxing tobacco fumes), or a pitch before bed to save me going outside.LionofJudah wrote:However, the risk of head-and-neck cancer from snuff is less than the risk of lung, head-and-neck, bladder and a lot of others.Marco wrote:You will be substituting mouth cancer for lung cancer....

Just an alternative to stinky cigs

Re: Snuff tobacco
When I quit smoking cigs cost $2 a pack. I put the price of a pack a day into a coffee can each day. I also have tried the patch, gum, everything shy of hypnotize, all a big waste of money, but my cheapness won over tobacco, and I used that can of cash for a trip to the dam.
