Whilst waiting for J to get ready to start the day, I try taking some bud pics.

I'm not sure what these are but I think at least one of them came from 1e Hulp.
Anyway, enough of this. It's time to get to Utopia to meet up with everyone for our excursion to Haarlem.
Trad takes the opportunity of lots of us gathered together to present a well-deserved cup to Utopia.

About 20 of us take over the shop for a massive celebratory smoke out.
Someone is set up for the day Haarlem
Leaving behind many casualties at Utopia, a small group of us set off on an expedition to Haarlem.
I think there are AzLaker, Drugsbunny, Gromit + Mrs and Matty223, plus J & me.
Against all of the odds we all make it to the station, get tickets and catch a train.

Most of Haarlem's coffeeshops are to the south of the station but on this occasion we're heading out of the northern exit.
As we do, this sign catches my eye.

Birdy

This is my first time here. I've been meaning to visit for years but always finished up heading the opposite way from the station before.
It's a really cool shop. I can see why it gets so many good reviews.

We are each presented with Birdy credit card wallets.

Flower Power
Heading back under the railway to the centre, we pass decorated cars.

Flowers are, of course, big business in the Netherlands.
Floats that had been paraded into Haarlem on the 20th are now parked in the Grote Markt.
It's a bit crowded and difficult to get a wide enough perspective to fully take in the grand designs.
Nevertheless, with the backdrop of the cathedral and clear blue sky, they still look dramatic, so we take loads of pics.

Leaving the Grote Markt along Smedestraat, we pass Theehuis Join Us.

We decide not to stop this time and head back to Amsterdam.
Eerste Hulp
Evening and Trad presents the Hestia Cup.

Our pro gets a shot - Bleak on the case.
Actually, it was probably this video he was doing.

From there we all drift to the Nes, via food stops, for the daily session there.
Our food stop is at De Vliegende Schotel (The Flying Saucer), a favourite vegetarian restaurant in the Jordaan.
This is Nieuwe Lelie Straat on our way to the Nes where we finish off another lovely day in fine company.
