Has anyone got a SONY PSP???
I am thinking about getting a PSP. How good would that be to watch a DVD or play a game in the airport and on the plane. What id like to know is how easy is it to download films and games for it off the net? Is it fairly idiot proof or do you need to be an expert on the computer? Can anyone suggest a good site to do this etc. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I'm almost entirely certain that you can't download psp games, because the PSP uses a proprietary format (UMD), so there are no UMD-r's, or UMD recording devices commercially available. As for downloading movies, the only way you can accomplish this is to download them like you would any oher movie, convert the format to mpeg, and put it on a memory stick duo card.
Personally, I'd rather have a nifty PDA than a sony psp. Take for example the one I'd like to get, the Palm TX. You can't really get games for it that are any good, but there's 101 great time passers for it, and it plays movies just as well as the PSP, you just need a $20 memory card for it, because it has very limited memory. It's got built in wifi with a decent internet browser, of course it has the handy touchscreen, and since it uses the palm operating system which has been around for like 15 years (but constantly updated of course), there is an incredible wealth of open source software for it, so you can almost always find a program that does what you're looking for. Another fun thing is e-books, I love reading e-books on my plm, sometimes I even download the audiobooks and listen to the book as I read it. Fun stuff.

I have one. I didn't go out and buy it, but it was given to me as a gift. I don't play it alot unless im on a long trip or am just plain bored. It would be ideal for a long Amsterdam flight.
I have Liberty City Stories (the GTA psp version) and it is pretty fun I suppose. The only drawback to the PSP is that holding the damn thing hurts your hands. The game selection also kind of sucks =/
