I don't care for him either but his wife is a lovely person. Weird eh?

And the answer to the question in the title of the OP is "no".

From Wikipedia.

then,
Ethyl Alcohol Rubbing Alcohol

The other type of rubbing alcohol consists of 97.5-100% denatured ethyl alcohol or ethanol with water. Ethyl alcohol naturally is less toxic than isopropyl alcohol. In fact, it is the alcohol that naturally occurs in wine, beer and other alcoholic beverages. However, the alcohol is denatured or made undrinkable in rubbing alcohol, both to control its use as an intoxicant and because the alcohol has not been purified to make it safe to drink. In fact, in the US, additives make it as toxic as isopropyl alcohol.
from http://chemistry.about.com/b/2013/01/27 ... lcohol.htm

I think they are both pretty bad.

and just for reading.

Good info Slip and Sal...
As for using denatured ethyl, I wouldn't use that either because of the same reason I wouldn't use isopropyl, unsafe.
I made it very clear, maybe too clear perhaps, I would use neutral grain ethyl alcohol, the drinkable type.
Why people insist on using poisons is beyond my comprehension, regardless if neutral grain isn't "readily" available or the higher cost.
I for one would make the effort in obtaining the "safe" alcohol, or I would do without. Good thing cannabis isn't addictive or maybe I would use iso out of desperation, like alcoholics drink cough syrup or strain/drink radiator fluid.
Wait for it..........the next argument against using neutral grain ethyl alcohol (in addition to cost and availability) will be that using it could cause people to become alcoholics, or that some can't use it because they are alcoholics. Whatever...
Very low brow indeed...

I use Naptha. It strips off the essential oils much better then any alcohol. As long as it is properly processed(boiled off) there should be no solvent left. I do use grain alcohol to "winterize" BHO sometimes but I like the consistency when it comes out of the oven the first time personally. That shatter is to hard to handle and mostly tasteless imo.
