A few years ago my son was up in Glasgow to watch Gretna play a minor Glaswegian team in a Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Park. Stood outside a rammed bar they were enjoying a spliff and a beer. Two of Glasgow's finest approached them and told my son to put the J out and into his pocket. They then promptly issued two £80 penalty notices for drinking alcohol in a controlled area and pissed off.

His own fault. Warned him about drinking.

That brings me to my favourite (only) Glasgow joke:

A Polis catches a shoplifter on the corner of Sauchihall and Dalhousie. Grabbing his hair he drags him screaming in pain round to Rose St. He gets out his notebook and the man says 'whit the fuck did ye dae that fur?' And the Polis replied...... 'Cos I can spell Rose St ye thievin wee cunt'.

Wow, two pages of sympathy, condolences, chin up and all that...

I just binned 11 cuttings due to bad technique and wrong equipment (not a total loss, still have the mothers). Now that's something to feel woeful about.

Smack him upside the head (with a feather duster), give him a hug and a kiss, and as he's walking away, a kick in the ass for the road.

Now, how about that pity party ref. my cuttings?
