Hops, what do you think?
http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Trinidat/KalySeeds/
It says it is crossed with Japanese hops. I call BS and think it's Maple leaf Indica or Wally Duck's Duckfoot. What do you guys think?
Could they really have crossed Hops with Weed?

Re: Hops, what do you think?
Many, many years ago I read in The Connoisseur's Handbook of Marijuana about how to grow a cross that looked like hops, thus attracting less attention.
Sadly, I no longer have the book, and as I am botanically illiterate, have no idea whether it was possible. The book certainly seemed to give the impression that it was.

Well as someone who has reservations about all but the most carefully bred automatics ('cause of the non-trippy ruderalis genes in there), I wonder what the point would be in crossing weed and hops.
I mean, at least cross it with a sequoia if you're gonna go through all that trouble

Hops and hemp are of the same plant family...Cannabaceae
as they are of the same family you should be able to "graft" either of the plants to the other, i do believe its possible to also graft to trees of the same plant family

They must find it difficult, those who have taken authority as truth, rather than truth as authority

Re: Hops, what do you think?
Just found this little gem.
Could be an interesting couple of pints.

Reading between the lines, and being a long suffering brewer of choice ales, brew a really strong (OG of at least 1085) Barley Wine as normal. 5 imperial gallons should do it. When it has stopped fermenting dry pot with about an ounce of crushed weed and bang in another pound of sugar. Secondary fermentation will increase the alcohol volume and extract the THC. When it stops working, filter and clear as normal. Bottle and mature for..... oh, at least 10 minutes. And yes, before you ask, homebrewers have made marijuana beer. Details online are thin, because the homebrew forums actively discourage discussion of it and the pothead forums are teeth-clenchingly imprecise. All I've found is 1) dry your bud first, then 2) don't add it to the boil without first soaking it in water to get the worst of the water-soluble tars out. I have no idea why people don't try to dry-pot their beer -- despite the worries I've read from these pot-brewers, the chances of contamination from the plant is very low, especially if you pasteurize it first. As for style, I've seen reports of a very dark ale recipe. Anything with a good malt backbone should be enough to dispel whatever gnarly flavors might develop. Finally, THC is alcohol soluble, so you probably want your beer to be in the 8% ABV range for maximum extraction.

Grafting can definitely be done. It's Awesome when you have a big hops vine and you graft a bud a two to the ends. People try it for stealth. Breeding a cannabis vine would be cool. Breeding cannabis with a strange leaf formation also cool. Hops is also perennial. A perennial dope plant?

Grafting hops to a cannabis root system can and has been done,
Back in the mid 70's I rented a farm with tenant house. The renter in the tenant house was a botany major at the local university. He did, it worked. A fence row of hops vine with psychoactive properties was the result. He started out with a lot of grafts. Some didn't make it more than a couple day. The survivors all grew strong and healthy.
Enjoy

Well I know the other way round grew buds, but did the hops plant have THC crystals or just in the leaf? flowers? Flybynite? Could you make hash from it?
Do you think breeding could work?
