Patat speciaal - but the fries are getting shorter.

The French fries served in Dutch cafes and snack bars are getting shorter but prices are not going down, RTL news said at the weekend.
The cold, wet spring means the main potato harvest has been delayed. This, in turn, means French fry makers are being forced to use the tail end of their stocks, and then move to this year’s early crop which are too small, RTL says. A good chip is six to seven centimetres long, but this is being reduced by around a centimeter. The thickness and the taste are not affected.
As soon as bigger potatoes become available, French fries will be back up to their normal proportions, the broadcaster said.
