Drum and Bass in Amsterdam ?

Post by Padge247 »

So I am a big DnB fan (I like Dubstep too but only if it's good ie DMZ, Deep Medi) and having committed the next year of my life to Amsterdam I was wondering if there was much of a presence for DnB in Amsterdam ?

Netherlands having produced 3 of the most well respected producers in DnB (Noisia) I assume there must be to some extent =) So far I have noticed Winston Kingdom seem to have weekly nights, and Major League DnB seem to organize pretty big (but not regular) events.

To be fair some of the best clubs I have been to have been the smaller ones, often better atmosphere and the soundsystem tends to make more of an impression =)

That's not Winston, lol.

Amterdam is really a house and techno city, not a lot of drum and bass.

Didn't know about the techno, but expected it to be fairly House dominated. Clearly not going to be as easy as I had hoped !

A bit more of a uk invasion rather than dutch D&B, but still pretty awesome events. Planning on hitting it hard this year, if I can pursuade at least one other person to join me

I had a great time at the Winston. They didn't seem to mind if you chugged a scoob down either. At least they didn't with us. Dude that was performing was named Smitty, said he was Amsterdam's hilltop hoods. Marco do you know who I'm talking bout?
Small though.
