Because of his visibility, this will be good for us on the pro-legalization side.

Yep, I just read it and was going to post about his apology and admission of misleading the public when I saw your post - beat me to it!
His "Weed" documentary is on CNN, Sunday at 8:00 p.m. The tide is really turning on this issue and I believe such public opinions from medical "experts" in the media, such as Dr. Gupta, will play a major factor in changing minds.
Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream. - John Lennon

Thanks GM...
Seems the good doctor has jumped the sinking ship and onto the bandwagon... not sure I want him on board given his past statements. He might have changed his mind, good for him, but he's a doctor who for years refused to listen to patients. I'll never refer to him as a physician, a doctor perhaps, but never a physician. He failed when he became narrow minded in regards to medicinal use of cannabis even though there are 1000's of years of documented "medical" evidence.
In addition, I would argue his statement that 9 to 10% of cannabis users are dependent seems to be unsubstantiated, he only sites "research". Boiler plate response he's learned to give over the years of being so wrong about medicinal cannabis.
Move on doc, no room on the bandwagon for the likes of you...
May I suggest applying for personal physician to Congress? Seems like a proper fit... they seem to be backpedaling on many social issues these days - gay rights for starters...
Give them a hand in climbing onto the bandwagon, the more the merrier....
But then again, instead of giving them a hand onto the wagon, I'd kick them to the curb, tell them to fix their sinking ship (which has already sunk but don't know it)...
At the end of the day, better an ally than a foe... join the party Doc...

Gupta was originally tabbed to be Obama's surgeon general, but turned the job down due to $$$ and politics. Regardless, he is respected by the current president and that is a good thing.

The impacts from his shift are already being seen- the NJ Governor is changing his stance on mmj for sick kids : http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/chris ... hp?ref=fpb
The documentary was well done I thought. Did anyone else see it?

Watched most of this last night. It's worth seeing, but the coverage, will leave MJ supporters like me a little dissatisfied.
