Prices are set by the government. I know American Spirit is 4,70 for 25 grams. I usually go to the tobacco shop just next to Chipsy king on Damstraat.

Minimum tar content for me, only smoke tobacco as a mixer, would use a herbal substitute if it burnt well and was cheap

Legally, yes, but not quite the situation in reality. I went into the shop just across from de Kuil. They tried to charge me rather more than the official price for 50g of Golden Virginia, so I just turned round and walked out. At which point they started saying that they'd throw in a lighter, but I was just irritated at the fact that they thought that they could try it on, what with clueless tourists in that location.

The price is on the tax stamp, don't pay a cent over that price.

The last official price I paid was E7.65 for 50g, that was back in April. Compared to about £17 over here it is still value.

On Rozengracht, (out of Paradox, turn right and then left onto Rozengracht), there is a tobacconist shop more or less opposite Black Star coffeeshop. Nice chap who usually has 1 or 2kg in stock. Give him a days notice and he will have any amount ready for you to collect on your way back home at the official price. Good service.

I found the tubs of jps cigarette tobacco very cheap it was €13.00 for 110g which I seen most coffee shops using as mixers with their pre rolls I think there are even cheaper brands again they are in shops all over amsterdam I got mine from leidserplein

I also got ripped off as I was an amateur in amsterdam i hadnt really understood the currency exchange I had 46 euros and I bought two hundred l&m cigarettes after that purchase I needed to buy more and I only had English pounds
when I asked how much I would have to pay in uk money he said 46 pound so I automatically purchased them thinking i had got a good deal it was not until my friend realised what had happened about an hour later that we went back.

when I went back to tell the guy what happened he had closed his shop obviously going to cash my money into euros as it was my last day I couldn't do anything about it so im definitely not getting ripped off like that again I recommend the tubs of ciggarette tobbaco as your getting double the amount of a 50 g pouch

It's gone up since – I seem to have caught a price change around the beginning of July, as one of the tax tags was just under €8, and one just over.

You paid in pounds here? You got ripped off to the fullest since pounds are not accepted here, even at the tourist shops.

That shop is a rip off at ran by chancers ;) they try and sell you a lighter with everything but for about 3e ;)

My friend went in to by smokes then came back ranting about how much of a rip off it was for cigs over here, i told him the price should have been 5.5e and he told me they charged him 10.5 for the smokes and a can of dr pepper which he was currently drinking. Told him to go back as that was not right, then when questioning the shop worker his answer was simple, the can of dr pepper was 4.99e as it was an American import!!! You can buy a can of dr pepper in AH for around 50cent.
That actual exact same shop sell AH milk cartons but for double the price :)

i order my raws from the UK by the box, always ordered even when living in the uk, but even with the postage it is still so much cheaper than they sell for here, even paying 30euro for 50 packets it works out at .60c a packet, win!

i'm not really a snob for using Raw papers though, i've smoked the alternatives for years and i do prefer the taste of none bleached papers over bleached papers, everyone has a preference :) I do use the free roach though!
