Amsterdam during the CC....

Post by George Hanson »

Hi folks, hope all are well....I have been thinking about dates for my next trip to the dam and was wondering what it's lke during the CC, I have been a fair few times to the dam but never during the CC!

It always seems rather crowded in the coffeeshops and the queues look ridculous on the vids I have seen during CC, so what's it like in the dam during the CC?

I won't be buying a pass for the CC, Just thinking about popping over during the first couple of daze of the CC and soak up the vibes... :)

If I don't buy a pass will I have trouble in the coffee shops without a pass during the CC, or is it not a good idea to go over without buying a pass?

Is it just a pain with overcrowding or is it a good vibe and buzz in the air cos the CC is in town?

What you reckon?

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks.

GH.... ;)

You will not have any trouble in the coffeeshops without a pass if you decide to go.

The only problems you may have are the ones you have already mentioned >>> long queues and over crowding.

If you are not going to the cup then I recommend going just after. Less people around and you will know all of the winners :)

aww man I just can't decide on dates, was thinking about going for christmas, then it changed to early november.. cos it was closer and less to wait lol

And now I'm thinking about going over during the CC.... stoners eh! ;)

I have in the past gone out of season so it's quiter and I can chill out and relax with no grief of full shops and stuff.

I would like too be there amongst the atmosphere of the city during the cup but I dunno if the over crowding will do my nut in.. But has i'm travelling solo on my next trip it may be cool and theres gonna be plenty of cool/interesting/crazy/LOUD folk knocking about I'm sure it would be an experience!...

but the queues, the queues and nowhere to chill, struggling too find seats... Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......

Hmmm, I dunno.......

I wouldn't worry about having somewhere to chill. You will always find somewhere for that.

The coffeeshops that are taking part in the cup will usually be a lot busier than the others but I think there are only around 30 coffeeshops that take part. There was a list somewhere but I cant seem to find it. I will let you know if I come across it.

I am looking to go just after the cup (first week of December) I love Amsterdam near christmas

Get a pass, get freebies and get wasted. If you have a pass you usually jump the queue.

I don't quite get the logic of coming to the Dam during the cup and not getting a pass for at least one day to see what all the fuss is about. If I ever find myself in the Dam during cup week I'll be getting a pass and doing the whole enchilada. After all when in Rome....

Would be great to have a toke with some of you if your in town I may just see ya in voyagers...

No doubt i'll be back on shouting and screaming with excitement if/when the flight/room is booked.
