First time after a very long time... recommendations needed!

Hello everybody,
after not having been to Amsterdam for so many years you wouldn't believe, I am about to go there again in two days. I am very much looking forward to it and did a lot of reading on this great website to prepare for the trip. :D
Now here are my questions:

1)
I am looking for a good strain for a beginner... My girlfriend has never smoked anything else than cigarettes before and she is curious to try some grass or hash. (She even never drinks alcohol, just because she doesn't like the effect.)
Now a couple of weeks ago, we finally smoked a bit of black Afghan somebody had brought from Holland, but after trying several times on several days, the only effect she got was that it made her dizzy and tired. (While it definitely wasn't the best stuff you could get, I found it quite enjoyable though - put me in a nice meditative mood.)
She wants to give it another try when we get there. What do you think she should go for?

2)
The last time I was in Amsterdam (long time ago, you would still pay in Gulden back then!), I smoked some Manali and thought it was the best hash I ever had. Now I know times have changed and you cannot rely on the stuff being sold under this name really being Manali. Anyway, is there currently any reasonable "Manali" around (gear that comes close to the Manali from about 15 years ago)? If not, what would be a good alternative?

3)
What I read about a strain called Laughing Buddha makes me want to try it. (It is supposed to make you feel happy and giggel, quite a different effect compared to what I remember from Manali). On coffeeshopmenus.org I only found it on Barney's menu, where it is 14€/g. Can you get it anywhere else in good quality for less? Any alternative recommendations?

4)
The quest for the best of all worlds - Is there a weed or hash around that combines all or most of these attributes:
- makes you laugh your ass off (most important feature)
- does not make you paranoid or anxious (necessary feature)
- does not make you tired when it wears off (would be nice)
- does not last very long (not so important)

Quite a lot of questions, I know. I haven't smoked very much for about 10 years or so... and I am pretty excited about my upcoming stay in The Dam... Don't want to waste time trying the wrong stuff...

Thanks in advance!

hello, i suggest asking the budtender,, most will be patient and help you out,, dont smoke alot at once, take a hit maybe 2 , and see how you feel,, make sure to eat something before you smoke,, and if you feel alittle dizzy have a some sort of surger..

enjoy
Peace matty

High

Some good questions in there. Will try and make the answers match.

1 Chocolope

2 Manali Jungle Cream is all over the dam and generally in the 15eu a gram range in the places I've seen it. Check the menu pages.

3 Sorry cannot help with that one. Not had laughing buddha in the dam for several years. Again check the menu pages.

4 Laughing Buddha :?:   Seriously though that is a tough ask. Good luck with the experimenting to find your perfect weed though. Let us know how it goes. 8)

Welcome to the forum.

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and any Toke & Talks that are planned.

Enjoy

It's not Laughing Buddha but Utopia have Buddhas Sister, I think they are both strains from Soma, it could be similar.
